First visit today to V's Salon. Very pleased with my appointment. Chloe cut, colored and highlighted my hair. She is very friendly and knowledgeable about hair color. Love how she listened to what I wanted and strived to provide that to me. I would highly recommend her. I know I will be going back.

Chloe was the first professional in a long time to cut my hair and she did a phenomenal job on top of being a glowing personality in the salon. I wasn’t sure what I wanted so she kept adjusting my haircut until it was perfect, it felt like she new what I wanted without me putting it into words. I will definitely be returning!

Kaitlynn was great. I walked in after having a horrible morning. I thought about rescheduling. I was honestly in full blown anxiety attack about things that had nothing to do with my hair. I couldn’t seem to slow my heart rate. After getting my hair cut and loving it and Kaitlynn’s calming energy I didn’t even notice by the time I walked out I was able to breathe again. My heart wasn’t beating out of my chest. She also very slowly took the time to make sure I would like a drastic change before she cut. I will definitely be back.

Took a gamble despite being the prices being more expensive than other places and never having been here before but Samantha gave me probably the best haircut I’ve ever had, was extremely happy with how it turned out and will definitely be coming back again. Definitely recommend going here if you want a haircut from people that know what they’re doing!

I’ve been eyeing VSalon for a minute, and finally made an appointment with Megan! To say that this my favorite haircut I’ve ever had is an understatement. Megan was easy to talk to, knowledgeable and so sweet! I definitely found my salon and new stylist!

I’ve found my new hair salon!! I was worried that I would have trouble with my hair being what it is, but this place was great!! Megan did my hair up so nice, it’s so soft. 10/10. I spent $83 before tip, but I got it trimmed, washed, and she put some nice products in. Megan even instructed me on what to use to replicate the look at home!

I had an appointment recently with Sam for a curly cut and style lesson. The salon was recommended in one of my hair groups and I was in the area for the day to meet up friends. We started off with an indepth consult. We went over hair cut, products I've used and liked/disliked, different styling techniques I've tried, and what my hair goals were. I told her how I was unhappy with how fluffy my hair looks without product and wanted more consistent results. I made sure to let her know I knew I had wavy hair, not curly, and it gets easily weighted down by heavy or multiple products. I thought the consult went well, until she proceeded to ignore everything I said.
I wanted some length taken off my bangs and overall. She trimmed the smallest bit off and then used thinning shears on just the tips. I was confused, but figured she probably knew what would work better since she was the professional. Then she went section by section and put in a curl cream, curl activator, mousse, gel, and something else. Again, I figured she knew better than I did and didn't question it. It was the same scrunch technique I used and discussed, but by the time she got halfway up, the bottom sections were stringy and hanging limply. I was losing hope at that point, especially because she had gradually gotten quieter. She was dead silent by the last few sections and at the end was trying hard to scrunch everything from bottom to top, but nothing was holding. I had more wave when I walked in without any product in it.
She offered to diffuse it or let me leave and air dry it. I hopped at the opportunity to end the appointment. I left looking like an oil drenched poodle. I had planned to grab a coffee and run a couple errands after, but was embarrassed by how my hair looked like I hadn't washed it in days.
I've tried styling different ways it for a bit now, thinking maybe I could get it to work, but my hair is laying even worse than before. I've given up at this point and decided to book with a different salon near me.

I am so excited to review this salon! The owner took one of Alton’s many historic buildings and transformed it into a gem. She modernized the place and still left the traditional charm.
When you walk in you are welcomed by everyone and it is SO rare to find that in a hair salon that is as classy and sophisticated as this one.
Moving on to my stylist, she was amazing. Samantha worked complete wonders on me. I thanked her over and over, and meant every word. Everyone there is so talented. As I sat in my chair I saw the ladies creating the looks people were asking for. I’m so happy I found my forever home. Thank you for opening such an amazing business in Alton, ladies!

I was given a buzz cut. Half the hair on one side of my head is longer then the other. It looks like a slanted buzz cut.. I am almost 50 and have thining hair and Sam (the styles) gave me a slanted buzz cut. This was my 3rd time in and both times before my hair cut turned out great. I didn't even mind they are way over priced and even left a nice tip but I won't be back. Thats what I get for not wearing my glasses. I can't even wear a hat to hide it because of work. Thanks Samantha

I absolutely love this place! I had Heather for my stylist. She made me feel comfortable for my first visit! I chose Heather as to she specializes in curly hair. Not only did I leave with a cut I love, but my color was on point. She educated me on how to properly embrace my natural curls. I left my appointment feeling knowledgeable and confident I can mimic what she taught me! I highly recommend VSalon! Great atmosphere and very friendly staff!
