Worst ski rental place I’ve ever seen:
1. Booked my rentals months in advance, they triple charged my credit card and took forever to refund them.
2. My reservation said “novice” no experience, never been on skis before in my life. Then I told Rodrigo the same thing when picking up the rentals. Rodrigo gave me skis that were too tall and boots too big for a beginner. After 3 days trying to ski with the wrong equipment and because I did know any better, I gave up skiing thinking it was me, only to learn by the mouth of another employee on the last day of my ski trip that they had given me the wrong equipment, that is why I could not control my skis.
They ruined my ski trip I have been saving money for years.
After I complained to Adam the supervisor, this is what I got:
“Good morning,
Terribly sorry to hear about your experience at Dollar. I’ll be sure to reach out to that supervisor and let them know to keep on top of their team”
In other words, gave me and the money I spent with a ski package in their store, the middle finger.

Service was great, but the bike we got for my two girls were only okay.My biggest complaint was that the drive train of both bikes was covered in dog hair.I felt like I paid too high of a price for okay bikes that were covered in dog hair.

Have loved this store for many years. So comfortable to just go in and poke around. Super friendly and helpful staff. This store is not just for tourists, it's for locals too. Many beautiful affordable pieces.

You know it was bad when you download "Yelp" just to warn others about the horrible service here. We rented our family a few bikes for a half day and the people at the front desk were totally inconsiderate and unhelpful, we had to beg them to help us. About a mile out, chains on 2 of our bikes completely fell off and we had to go all the way back to get new ones which was almost like a chore for them to exchange. Highly recommend riding around the block before taking off on any broken bikes.

We arrived a bit before opening (8:45). The men that ran the rentals weren’t even there yet and when they did arrive they told us to wait, which we completely understand, being that they open at 9:00. When they did open we were looking for bikes to ride the lift access trails. Unknown to us they did not rent bikes for the lift trails. The problem was the older man that was “helping” us, was very rude and said.“You’re not riding our bikes on the lift trails,” instead of kindly informing us that they do not rent bikes for the lift trails.On top of that we asked about the travel each bike had and he had no clue, he seemed very incompetent about the specs of the bikes he rented.He was just very rude and did not look like he wanted to be there or help us at all. My recommendation would be to move this guy to the service department and find a kinder sales person.

Yesterday, my wife and I rented e-bikes from this shop. The registration process was easy and we were given a nice introduction into how these bikes work. We grabbed a couple nice, clean helmets and headed out on our journey to explore beautiful Sun Valley. 20 minutes in, my chain broke. I called the shop and they quickly went into action. The manager, Dave drove out immediately with a replacement bike. As it turned out, that bike had a problem with the seat. Without hesitation, he apologized and told us they would refund us fully. In addition, he suggested we return to the shop, get new equipment and still enjoy our day on the bikes. When we made it back to the shop, the original bike was finishing up repairs. The mechanic took it for a test ride and we were off, once again, on our journey. This is EXACTLY, the type of customer service we all wish for! I'm now a huge fan of this business and can't wait to return to Sun Valley. Thanks to Dave and all his team at the shop. A++!

Between the Pete Lane's at Dollar Mountain and this one at the Sun Valley Resort, I received better help and a better product from the one at the resort. There were two days in a row where I was the first customer in the door, minutes after they opened, and I was always greeted with a warm welcome by Birgitta. She even offered to let me stick around and wait inside while I waited for the shuttle so I wouldn't be cold! Another store associate, Jyll, was amazing! She let me try on as many pairs of goggles as it took to find the perfect ones and ran up and down the stairs to find what I was looking for. I ended up having to return a previously purchased pair, which she assured me would be possible (thankfully!). We even got to talking about her background and how life is living in Sun Valley. As I went to leave, she gave me plenty of restaurant recommendations and wished me well on the slopes. She was very sweet and approachable (as everyone in this town seems to be)!

We forgot my bike shoes at home in Utah, so went into Pete Lane's to see if they could rent us a set of flat pedals that I could use with my sneakers. Big old "NO" from the bike shop dude. No help whatsoever! Didn't offer any solutions to help us have a nice vacation. WTF Pete Lane's? We come to your store every time we are in Sun Valley and have rented and purchased lots of stuff from you. Would it have been that hard to help us out? Going to Elephant's Perch!!
