The Shelley Senior Center--aka The Elite Retreat-- is a great facility and an amazing benefit for all the senior citizens of the surrounding communities. They provide really great lunch meals on Wednesdays and Fridays and even deliver to those unable to come join the fun. They have all sorts of classes like exercise, developing skills, and learning history. They also provide a lot of fun social activities. The best part is of course the people.

Twice the Shelley senior center has not wanted to deliver the weekend frozen meals for meals on wheels program. Both times the same lady was cold and unfriendly. Being disabled and home bound, she assumed we were invited to family for the holiday. Unfortunately we were not invited so there will not be leftovers sent home for the weekend but she doesn't care. So when I was working and donated to the Shelley senior center each paycheck, I feel it was to an unappreciative cause. Their mission statement should be read and adheard to by all employees and volunteers. Our thanksgiving dinner was provided by the Blackfoot senior center and we definitely appreciate the kindness and efforts put forth by this fine group of people, I wish Shelley people would follow their example.
