Great people very friendly and knowledgeable. Always willing to help us out no matter what we need, a little bit of wood or maybe a lot! We love to go in their barn and just wander around until we find what we want. If we have questions, most of the time, they have the answer!

Building a home and searched for months trying to find the right barn doors for the project. Just could not find the rustic look we wanted. Everything was manufactured and looked too new. Our home builder suggested we look at The Prairie Barn. Not only did we find doors like we were looking for, we also bought an old reclaimed beam for a fireplace mantel. Employees were super helpful. Did not get a chance to meet Dave but spoke to him over the phone. My doors are beautiful and exactly what we had wanted. I am hoping to visit again after our home is done to have additional items made. This place is awesome. You have to check it out.

I recently put my house up on the market and was advised by my realtor that the little barn out back wouldnt pass an FHA home loan inspection. Since the barn was close to 100 years old a friend recommended reaching out to Dave, owner of the Prairie Barn, because he buys barnwood from people.

I recently put my house up on the market and was advised by my realtor that the little barn out back wouldnt pass an FHA home loan inspection. Since the barn was close to 100 years old a friend recommended reaching out to Dave, owner of the Prairie Barn, because he buys barnwood from people. I got in touch with Dave and we made a verbal agreement. He removes the barn, ALL OF IT, and he can have the wood, windows, and other valuable components in trade. I asked NUMEROUS times if they'd be able to take it all since the pending inspection literally depended on it being removed. He assured me everything would be gone minus small debris for a "weanie roast." Long story short, his crew came out and took the good stuff, the valuable barn wood, the valuable windows. And left me with 2 HUGE SLASH PILES. Literally everything that wasn't of value to them. My realtor and I have both tried to get in touch multiple times, with the inspection tomorrow I'm in big trouble. We would have been in better shape leaving it up then what we are now. Nails with boards now rittle my backyard, meaning my inspection is all but through. From the minute i got off work tonight i loaded trailers and made dump runs, but couldnt put much of a dent in it. I made the mistake of trusting him. By believing he'd be good on his word. I'll warn everyone I come across to stear clear of the Prairie Barn. Just because they're a local business, doesn't mean they are a trustworthy business.

Sweet couple... they tear down old buildings, especially barns, and turn them into rustic treasures. Great little family business.
