We had several accounts with this credit union, personal, business, auto, personal loans, credit cards, pretty much everything but a home loan. Ran 100’s of thousands through this credit union never late always paid off early. Then ran into a bad business deal and needed a 15k loan to settle over 100k in debt. Took three clear vehicle titles with me and was categorically denied!!! Spent years building a relationship with this institution for nothing!!!! Thanks mountain America, for the giant punch in the face!!!

My experience with MACU and this branch began when I needed financing for a new car after I hit a deer and my SUV was a total loss. Kiana worked closely with me, as I had excellent credit, but my debt-to-income ratio ratio was just a bit beyond where underwriting would prefer it to be. Braden was hearing our conversations and came over several times to advise Kiana on ways to tweak my application to get it approved, and they were both so very friendly and knowledgeable. They both advised me on the benefits of opening checking, savings, money market, and credit card with MACU, and I ended up choosing to consolidate my little credit card debt with MACU, as doing so actually earned me rewards, and there were no fees involved. Kiana reassured me that I was good fit and a good risk for MACU, even showing me her computer monitors at all times and hiding nothing – it was clear they wanted my business, and she and Braden did absolutely everything to earn it. I cannot begin to tell you how personable and professional these two were and are, and how grateful I am that MACU chose to approve my loan, for I would not be in my new car without everything they did to get me into it. Kiana even printed out free temporary checks for me so that I did not have to buy checks that I will barely use, and she had debit and credit cards ready for me to take home after I closed my loan. She showed me how to use the MACU Android app, and advised on how to set up alerts and how to set up transfers between banks. The only downsides for me with MACU are that the closest branch (Post Falls, ID) is an hour and a half away from where I live, and the branch is closed on the the weekend. Otherwise, MACU is a perfect fit, and I am pleased to once again be a member of a credit union, with its family-like attitude and better interest rates. So far I am loving the functionality of both the app and the website, and am very impressed by what I have seen and with how I was treated by MACU. Thank you Kiana and Braden, you two are the best!!!!

Gabbie at the Post Falls location is amazing. Seamless process to get a personal loan-took about 10 minutes. Always great service at Mountain America!!

Post falls branch is amazing. But super issues I am having with getting access to money being sent to me.First problem was zele transfer. I had to play phone tag for 3 days to get the money that was transferred over a week prior. Zele verified all was good from the bank sending and from there end on the first day. Rent check was denied causing me fees from the rental company and was late adding more fees.2nd the nightmare started again yesterday my direct deposit is missing. I have been with this credit union for a month now and am about 2 days from being gone from them. Call customer support and asked to call back when a team shows up to look into it. Phone tag starts again. How many calls do I need to make is the question this time? Adp shows deposit was made to my account number

After doing some research on several local credit unions; I landed at the MACU branch in Post Falls and I am very happy that I did! When I walked in, Kaylee welcomed me with a big smile which immediately put me at ease! I worked with Kaylee to open new accounts and that girl was amazing! She was determined to help me get what I was looking for! She gave me great information for future potential needs. She made me feel very confident and comfortable that I could reach out to her with any future questions! Kudos also to the manager there (sorry, I don't recall his name now) who shared his knowledge on a particular topic. Both of them were greatly appreciated! Thank you!

We had a negative experience with this credit union.Our initial HELOC experience with them was fine. As interest rates went up over the past year, however, we decided to convert our HELOC to a second mortgage fixed-rate loan, as we didn’t know how high rates would soar.We asked about a certain option and were told by Ameen that this would be fine. We asked by phone to lock in a certain rate as well. However, during the underwriting process, the loan officer told us that the loan term Ameen had quoted us was incorrect/unavailable. He also refused to honor the lower interest rate (what it was when we started the application) and said it had not been locked in. As a result, our loan is a full percentage rate higher.We felt that Ameen simply told us what we wanted to hear. At no point in the process did he share what the differing interest rates would be based on length of loan term. He apparently didn’t know what the actual options for loan terms were when we initially asked or that there would be different interest rates for different term lengths. It led to a few awkward and confusing interactions with the loan officer. We would probably have made a different loan choice had we known all of the options.The interactions we had with MACU regarding this loan felt sloppy and unprofessional. In the future, we will probably do business with a different credit union.

My husband recommended me and at first I was happy. But then i realized they were stealing from me by charging me extra fees. For example I do have the go negative option and I understand it charges 25 per transaction. . However when I know I was at the beverage barn before the account when negative and then I went to Walmart and actually put my account negative they were charging me double fees . And they cover their tracks bu not posting the time with the ACTUAL transaction. When I have proof with receipts. They've stolen over 100 in fees because of this.
