The process of purchasing a new vehicle was great. We got exactly what we wanted and the buying process was very fast. Probably the first time in my life that I felt good after leaving a car dealership with a new car.

I took my Acadia in to Hirning to have the timing chain replaced based on a friends diagnosis, because I heard they are a reputable GMC dealer. I told Hirning about my friend’s diagnosis and they went forward with a very expensive repair. During the repair they discovered the cam shaft was delaminated and recommended it be replaced. (In hindsight, this was a bad decision as it was an indicator of a bigger issue.) When it was put back together, there was still a noise from the lower part of the engine and their recommendation is now to replace the entire engine. Unfortunately, this means repairs combined would have put us at almost 3x the resale value of the vehicle.There was some disagreement as to whether I waived having Hirning do a diagnosis prior to the repair and to whether my friend’s diagnosis was a professional diagnosis. I didn’t really remember answering that question, but I recently sat down with the service manager to listen to the recording of my initial call for the repair where it sounds like I say the car was professionally diagnosed. In hindsight I should have asked for more advice before going forward with such a costly repair and I simply didn’t recognize my saying it was diagnosed meant they would not do their own diagnostic. My mistake.I have had quite a bit of dialogue with the service group on this matter and they have been quite clear they don’t think they did anything wrong by not insisting they do their own diagnostic. With that said, I do really appreciate they came back and reduced the bill. I learned quite a lot from this very expensive lesson. Unfortunately, I have an Acadia that has a broken engine with a new cam shaft and timing chain, and the only option now seems to be to spend good money after bad for an engine replacement at 2x the value of the car.The major lesson I guess, is always overtly ask them to do their own diagnostic and ask what the probability is that the repair will fix the issue.

Kenneth in sales was great to work with. He patiently built the truck to fit my needs. Even though I did not order the truck through him, but used a dealership near my home in Utah he was genuine in serving my needs. I highly recommend this dealership and Kenneth is a real man filling the needs of the customer. I appreciate his no pressure sales and desire for our very best. Thanks Kenneth

Edit: I am totally blown away by the customer service- it was great from the beginning. I wasn’t trying to get anything out of leaving the review, just wanted to let them know that I was surprised with the fees and not feeling aware of them. They called me within 24 hours and worked with me to make it right. I am impressed and will use them again in the future.Everyone was so nice there, but I was shocked when I was leaving. When I called to get a quote on a key fob for my Acadia, I was quoted around $150. I decided for my birthday this week I’d go ahead and do it. When I got there, they said I was actually looking at $200 which was more than I was hoping, but I really wanted the fob. After they did the work and I went to get my fob, she said $319. Apparently labor was $110 which I honestly don’t think I would’ve done it if I would’ve known the price, but was pretty unhappy that I was totally unaware of the labor fee until the work was done. I am happy to have the fob and was pleased with how nice the staff was, but I’m just feeling a little duped. Happy birthday to me!

Scheduled maintenance on a a/c issue that we had with our Acadia. It has a warranty but because of no code or check engine light coming on they could not solve the problem. The check engine light never came on for us during this problem. By the time we got the Acadia in the check engine light came on. (different issue entirely) We delivered the Acadia with the engine light on the night before the appointment and by the time they got it in the check engine light had reset itself. We had talked to the service department and they said that we needed to change the oil because it was due. This was the same day they couldn't solve the problem. We were told that they would have it done the next day. By the time my wife had gone down the next day late in the afternoon the oil hadn't even been changed yet. Not impressed with the service techs. the service scheduler apologized for it not being done but how do you have something warrantied if you don't get a code to fix it. i felt like we wasted out time taking it down to have it fixed.

We are travelling, and the DEF light came on, indicating we needed to refill. Instead of buying at a gas station, we Googled the nearest GMC dealer and were pleased to see so many positive Google reviews. We pulled up to the service bay doors, but they didn't open. My husband, an older man, went inside and was told by the "service" department to move our truck to the parking lot near the sales entrance and purchase 2 jugs of DEF fluid from the parts department. They were in a sealed cardboard box. No one offered to help carry them all the way outside to the truck, or came out to take the empty jugs and box from him. We had to fill the reservoir in their parking lot.Our local dealer has us pull into the bay and they pour the DEF fluid into the reservoir for us. We don't mind paying a little more for the product for this service. It's a simple, but meaningful courtesy. Hirning GMC could learn a lesson in customer service, no matter where the customer is from. If I could have, I would have indicated a zero star review.

I visited many dealerships prior to going to Hirning. I was severely disappointed at the lack of integrity and trustworthiness at all the other dealerships. But when I pulled into Hirning I was met at the door of my car by Kenneth. His trustworthiness and integrity was very apparent. He was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Kenneth is not only an exceptional person but is exceptional at his job. I will send people to Hirning and will continue to use Hirning as my dealership.

Kenneth was an amazing salesperson very easy to work with and very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were purchasing. We definitely will purchase from him again amazing person.Jared in the finance department also very helpful considerate and walked us through every detail on the financing side. If you have to wait during the service period the waiting area is stocked with coffee and bottled water. Comfortable seating, wifi connection, and television are provided. What impressed me most was the cleanliness of the entire showroom and the cleanest public restrooms that I have ever seen anywhere.

Staff was very knowledgeable an accommodating when we arrived. They went right to work getting our vehicle serviced and out in a timely manner. They were friendly and worked with us and our time spent.

I called three total dealerships and told each dealer exactly what I wanted. Of those three, Kenneth was the ONLY salesman to listen to me when I told him what I wanted. After two weeks of searching for the right truck, Kenneth found me exactly what I wanted. When it came to the financing part, Brett was awesome to work with!! He got me an excellent rate for a great term!! Thank you Kenneth and Brett! I will refer anyone and everyone to Kenneth and Brett!!! You guys are great!!!! I love my new truck!!!!!Thanks again!!!!!!
