Long lines at register. Not enough employees to handle customers buying and customers needing help with products and animals. Employees were pleasant and helpful, but stretched thin.

We just went in to pick out some fish for our kids new aquarium. Bambi helped us. She was so knowledgeable and so very helpful! She helped us pick the right combination of fish that will get along, helped us pick the healthiest fist out of the stock they had. Told us exactly how to take care of them. All with the friendliest smile!
EDIT! While I still appreciate Bambi's friendly service, I do not think Petco has the healthiest of fish... if you are in the Treasure Valley go to the Sunken Ship in Caldwell instead. Healthier fish.

I went in to look and ended up bringing home a betta fish for my daughter. Mainly because it's impossible to not want to rescue them. I don't have any expectations to make Petco stop over-supplying bettas and under-caring for the fish. However, it was aggravating to be spoken over repeatedly by the overly-aggressive know-it-all cashier. She wanted to make sure we had water conditioner. She kept speaking over me so I showed her my phone and said I was already researching water options and started to say I WAS going to use distilled water when she interrupted me to tell me to NEVER use distilled water (not allowing me to finish my sentence that I had read online to not use distilled). It's aggravating to have any attempt at a conversation with someone so excited to show you they know more than you that they don't let you speak. The irony being that my daughter had just delivered a dead betta to her 10 minutes before that. Don't give me advice when you can't even keep the fish in your care alive. I won't be back.

Don’t spend your money here. I spent over $200 and they can’t figure out how to do a simple return on a harness that doesn’t fit my dog with a phone number attached to it. Worthless.

Couldn’t groom the dog? I’m no expert but I’ve bathed the dog. How much effort do you put into it? Just wanted the dog bathed and groomed. 10 minutes into it they called and said they give up. Never again will I ever ask them to bath my dog

Looked up petco called the number asked my question they told me unfortunately they didn’t carry the product I was looking for. Looked up petsmart called the number. The guy answered. I asked him my question and he said didn’t you just call me? I said no I called Petco. He then proceeded to tell me that I just called him and once again they did not carry the product I was looking for. I told him he needs to look into both places Petsmart and Petco have the same number. He was very rude and Should not be talking to customers that way. It is very unprofessional. I have no idea why he has a job answering phone calls if that business or both businesses want to seem professional in anyway.

So after calling yesterday to inquire about anal gland expression, I was told yes you can walk In, but we’re almost closed today open tomorrow till four end of conversation. Show up today I’m told I needed Proof of updated rabies shot. I was not told that I said, after bringing my poor dog who hates the car all the way here was told by Jean Paul too bad we have to have it. I explained that I’ve never been asked for that before at any other place. He said if I bring one back, they will give me a free anal expression. Well If you’re not competent enough to tell your Customers what you require to have services done then I don’t think you’re competent enough to touch my dog. Also, there is absolutely nothing on the website that states you need an up-to-date proof of rabies shot. I actually went back and looked again to make sure that I didn’t miss it, but I didn’t. It’s not there. You would think if they’re gonna turn people away for something they required. They would absolutely make sure That customers were told by the employee when they call or at least have it on the website!

Nice staff. Found what I needed easily. Some spots were very messy.
