This place had a excellent employee named Josh. One day a student from the u of i walked in to the sunset mart and pulled a pistol out and pointed it at the employee telling him to hand over the money. Josh saw a child pointing a firearm at him so Josh grabbed the gun, disarmed the robber and contacted the police. He prevented a potential tragedy and protected his bosses good and funds. And to thank Josh for protecting himself and the store the boss fired Josh. Cause corporate policy is apparently to let people point deadly weapons at you and to just do whatever they tell u. I will never support a business that requires its employees to be victims of gun violence when the employee is capable of defending and protecting himself. Josh is a awesome worker. And its a shame that such a capable dedicated employee was fired for protecting himself. Please do not support this chain or location. And straight up anyone looking for a capable hard worker that will stand up and defend his family friends and community. I know a a man that acts not sits back and wishes for a good outcome.

I love this convenience store. Most of the employees are really nice. One of the managers was gruff when I wanted to know about replacing the lottery scratchers. He informed me they had already been replaced. Even though the employees prior had told me they never knew when they would get more scratchers.

I'd give this place zero stars if that was an option! I stopped in there early saturday to get gas and coffee so I prepaid my gas inside at the counter. That left me enough for breakfast with my supervisors the next day before payday. My card was declined and I was unable to pay for my breakfast! Sunset Mart ran my card and put a pre authorization on it to verify funds. Basically they ran my debit card and it cleared and then they put a hold on that same amount at the same time so my card wouldn't work until the following Monday when I could call and have it cleared. When I called the store manager Bill... he claimed they never do that and blamed my credit union. Needless to say... I won't be letting them run my card ever again. In fact I doubt I'll ever go back. What a scam!

Sunset Mart - five stars Sunset Mart is a nice place to shop for one or two things if it's not out of your way or especially if you're just at the gas station for a moment. I used to go to PPSEL the next street over and I would always get coffee beforehand at this little store. Prices are what you would expect at a gas station store. The selection is quite good for this type of store. The staff are friendly and professional at this location. The store is clean, organized, and well-kept. I recommend this little store to anyone passing by.

Only complaint is premium gas is unusually expensive which is unfortunate when you have a car that only takes premium. It has a good A&W inside and an awesome growler fill station.

Pretty typical gas station. It was clean, there were gas in the tanks which filled up my car to get me on my way home! What more can you ask for?? If you're in the mood for fast food fare, there is an A&W inside.
