I have been having problems with new bus drivers not know how to work the bus fare box. This results in them over charging for my requested fare. There is no way for them to refund the overcharged amount. I consider this stealing. They all claim they are new, from out of town, and don't understand the system that they are working with. This is not acceptable. I have been overcharged 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Prior to this, I have had no issues because it was a regular driver.

Huge grateful shoutout for 160 Eagle OnDemand! I rode for the first time last week 10/27/23. I'm a senior blind woman who gets around with the help of a guide dog for the blind, and various GPS apps that speak to me about my surroundings. Prior to scheduling a ride, I made quite a few phone calls to VRT with questions on how to make this work for me. Every single person I spoke with was extremely helpful and friendly. I was beginning to feel like a pest for calling so much, but they all assured me that it was not a problem at all - they were there to help. When I finally decided to jump in and schedule a ride via their app, I was excited and ready for a fun day out on my own - except for my guide dog, of course (smile). Everything went smoothly. It's hard to express just how good it feels to experience the independence the 160 gave me. I won't forget that first ride, and I plan on many more in the future. Thank you, VRT and the city of Eagle, for making this happen!

Very first ATTEMPT at riding the VRT on demand system. Started searching for rides at 11:30 FINALLY found one at 3:45. When I booked the ride it said 12 minutes away, I live 7-8 minutes walking distance from the stop. I left as soon as the ride booked and all of a sudden the arrival time jumped all the way to 3 minutes instantly. I get WITHIN 100FT of the bud and the driver leaves and waves at me! Absolutely ridiculous system and HORRIBLE first impression. If you depend on a bus system I feel bad for you and hope things get better because just from that first instance I can tell that they are COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE

Although not ideal, they do well with what they have - Idaho doesn't allow local option tax to support transit. The system works rather well for daytime commutes on main corridors like State and Fairview. We've saved thousands and many hours wasted attending to a steering wheel thanks to the ValleyRide bus system.

The female security guard here has absolutely NO respect! (Shes the one with orange hair.) My sister and I went in to ride the bus to the boise town square and at first she complained that our masks were too low, then we heard her call my sister the F slur and The N word under her breathe while walking away. After coming back to catch the bus home she had yelled at us for apparently running around the corner even though we hadn't even gone around any corners.

If you're talking about Barbi's regions, then I prefer her Valley. They have a pretty good bus service around Boise and its suburbs, which is based here in Meridian, which has nothing to do with Greenwich Meridian of course. I tend to use buses when in Boise because most of my trips here were in my Greyhound days, and I was never disappointed with prices nor services, but the buses were usually empty honestly.

VRT’s poor management and refusal to listen to their ridership is about the most frustrating and confusing thing I’ve ever had to deal with. They have a monopoly on the public transit market and thus can do whatever they want, regardless of it is the right decision, with no consequences. They held open houses to talk about route changes earlier in the year. Many people including myself presented in depth feedback on various route changes. VRT took it upon themselves to ignore any and all feedback given and even admitted to making changes to some routes because, and I quote, “we made the decision in house and felt it was right.” How can people who don’t even ride the bus and probably never have, (the office is in Meridian and they don’t even operate the bus in Meridian,) make any decisions based on what they “feel”.The proposed changes to just about everything on State St. go against the wishes of just about everyone I’ve talked to personally and the elimination of the 9x goes against the wishes of dozens of riders and eliminates a closer, more frequent bus route from users from Eagle, Star and anyone really who lives more west than Glenwood. With a massive multi hundred unit apartment complex getting ready to open on State near Eagle, VRT has eliminated any chance for a public transit opportunity from that area, from the people who would use it the most. Please put employees of VRT on the busses, get the feedback from people right then and there, see where they stop, see what people want, stop making decisions based on your “feelings.”

Some of the bus are just right down rude. Unwilling to help an upset customer. Not mention that 50% of their driver can’t speak English

Always late. Schedule says i should be there at 5:38. And hsve 7 minutes to catch next bus. In 2 weeks haven't been on time once. Missing this means i have to call uber or friend last bus. This bus system is horrible!

The website is ancient, customer service is minimal at best (with the exception of the bus driver who is friendly), there is no app (it is 2015, please catch up), and the stops are poorly marked. Not sure if I would ever use it again unless an emergency.Having tried to give it a chance again recently, I can confirm the 1 star rating (which is generous). I should also add that whomever the people are that "manage" the system, they consistently fail to employ the most badic, cost effective, efficiency driven, customer service oriented practices that are used across the nation, and even in many develops countries! The fact that people are still complaining about the same thing year after year shows little interest on the part of the management to improve or even to address concerns.
