Great lace to donate and shop

I do not recommend this thrift store. A recent incident with a senior lady cashier and my combat veteran husband has really soured us on this place. My husband went to this cashier to have his item rung up. She gave him the total ($2.09), asked for his phone number, and offered him a military discount (he didn't ask for it.) Then she asked him, "Do you want to ROUND UUUUUUUUUUUUUUP to three dollars for our kids' such and such program????" to which he instantly replied, "No thanks." Well, this woman, in front of everyone else in line, proceeded to SHAME HIM publicly for not rounding up. She literally said to him, "OHOOoooohhh, you can take the military discount, but you can't GIVE BACK to the community. I see....you know, it's nice sometimes to "pay it forward" when you can....you know, someone does something nice for YOOOOOU, and then YOU do something nice for someone ELSE." Along with this woman was some 30-something year old dude behind him in line going, "Ha ha! Yeah man, you know...you just, you know, round UP! Roooooound up, man! It's so easy, ha ha! That's what I do, I just...you know, round up! Ha ha ha!" This bumbling idiot just stood there nodding and commenting along with the woman chastising him. My husband, a trained elite soldier who is not easily unnerved, looked this woman dead in the eye and said, "OOooohhh. My "military discount" huh? Well let's see, I think that risking my life for this country, fighting for freedom, fighting against terrorism, Fascism, and Communism, losing a limb, seeing my fellow soldiers blown to bits, their faces blown off, and taking bullets into my torso and having to carry around shrapnel in my abdomen for the rest of my life was part of my "giving back," don't you think??? I literally put my life on the line so that all of you can stay safe and stay free, and now that I am back home, I get to save a WHOLE DIME on my order while shopping at a this thrift store as a thank you. And, we have donated hundreds of dollars worth of stuff to this store so that YOU can sell it at a profit. So, no, I do NOT want to "round up" to make my purchase more costly. I donate to the causes in which I believe and to foundations that I know handle their funding correctly. And yes, I am going to take my whopping 10% military discount for the part where someone "gives back" to me, because I think I've already "given back" and "given enough" as it is." The woman cashier took the hint, immediately getting flustered and tried to make amends by saying, "Oh, I didn't mean....I mean...that's fine, that's fine! I completely understand!" The laughing idiot standing behind him also immediately stopped the incessant head bobbing and began looking away as if he wanted to back out of the conversation. The last words of the transaction were, "So, I am going to pay this $2.09, take my item, and be on my way if that is okay with you."
Since this incident, I have been at the store three times and have had it being accosted at the register for this "round up" program. It isn't the idea of the meager monetary donation for which they are asking. It is the principle of the situation where an employee/volunteer/whoever she was felt that it was completely acceptable to vocally shame a patron of the store for not participating. She had no idea who my husband was. She had no idea why he is missing a limb. She has NO IDEA just how much he has already "given back" or "paid it forward." We have our own beloved charities that we support and that is who gets our disposable funds. Next thing you know, there will be a tip jar at the checkout for, in the words of this woman, "giving back to the community." Plainly and simply, she should have gently respected his "no thanks" and continued the sale.
And lastly, as one other reviewer commented, it

St. Vincent's really stands out as a top-notch thrift store in my eyes. It's impressive how they use their funds to genuinely support and uplift the community. Despite market trends, their prices have barely ticked up, which is something you don't see often. Beyond that, I've consistently found their products and clothing to be of great quality, not to mention that their stores are always spotless and well-organized. I've always encountered friendly staff at every location too, which just adds to the overall positive experience. Big thanks are in order for St. Vincent's for their tireless effort and the incredible support they provide our communities. It truly is a blessing, and I'm deeply appreciative of everything you all do.
Best wishes

BEST THRIFT STORE IN THE VALLEY. Troves of treasure! Fantastic selection of quality items very FAIRLY priced to keep things moving. Great selection, very well organized. It doesn’t feel like a chore to sort shopping here bc most of that has been done for you by the staff and most things are well displayed, grouped and organized, they even go so far as to color coordinate. It’s so aesthetically pleasing. It’s pretty clean, the dust bunnies under control and the air doesn’t make you itch or sneeze. On the occasions I visited it didn’t have that common thrift stank. Clothing and home wear is great quality. Electronics tested. Love their sales. Wonderful energy. This place is such a benefit to our community, both for those that are shopping and to those more needy still whom the purchases benefit. The people that work here, the managment and staff are real life angels in the flesh. Always improving and investing their energy to make the experience more enjoyable and benefit those in need. You can see their work ethic and dedication to our community. I pray them supremely blessed. Thrifting was never my thing but it is now! A one stop shop. I will be back and drop in w the kids to take them on a lil shopping spree. 1st and only stop in this valley for thrifting. Highly recommend this place 5 stars for sure.

I'm not sure if the workers are there doing their community service but they are very rude . I would not suggest shopping there also the store smells humid tuna....also they don't care to much about their product ....they leave a bunch outside in the rain ....

Horrible place to volunteer, if you are trying to do volunteer work this is not the place. The manager Brandy is outright power hungry and treats the volunteers horribly. 10/10 would not recommend this place until the owners can find new managers.

This place is amazing. The staff was super upbeat and friendly. Their prices were how a thrift store should be. Unlike the mainstream thrift brands I've shopped at over the years and watched their prices get higher and higher. Their selection was organized and clean. Honestly, this is a new favorite shopping spot for me.

One of the most well organized thrift stores I have been to! However, the best part is the staff, especially Dave!
