I’ve been a huge fan of Jacksons since I moved to my neighborhood in 1994. My neighborhood Jacksons is at 791 N. Garden St. in Boise. I go there mostly for bags of ice and top-tier gas, but I like knowing that I can get just about anything else I need there too. It is like an Idaho version of a bodega. The employees are always very nice and friendly, too.Jacksons was started by a family from Homedale, Idaho. In 1975, they opened a gas station in Caldwell. Today, they have more than 300 locations spread across 7 Western states. The key to a well-run business starts with happy and loyal employees. If you frequent Jacksons, you’ll notice there isn’t a lot of turnover, and the employees seem happy. In addition to providing a fair wage and a family-like work environment, they offer a generous benefit package that includes: affordable health/dental/vision plans, paid time off and holiday pay, fuel and merch discounts, performance bonuses, a 401(k) Retirement plan with a company match, profit sharing, and tuition reimbursement of up to $5000 per year. I’d consider working here just for the 401(k) and tuition reimbursement alone. Only 22% of American employers provide 401(k) retirement plans with a company match. Jacksons also raises millions of dollars for local charities.I don’t know when Jackson’s got rebranded as Jacksons Food Store, but the name is fitting. Thebuyer for Jackson’s really knows what they’re doing! These are some of the interesting food products I found during my recent visit to the Jacksons at 750 N. Ten Mile Rd in Meridian. I went there after purchasing tacos at Street Tacos La Cruz, to buy a drink, so I could eat at their table outside. But just one step inside the store, and I spotted so many interesting items that after I was done eating, I went back inside and took pictures until my phone battery died. In the course of doing so, I interacted with several employees. They were all very nice and helpful.I LOVE this store! You will too! GUARANTEED!!!* This store also sells a lot of wine and has the largest beer cave of all the Jacksons locations.* This store also has a drive-through. Your drive up, tell them what you want from inside the store. They go get it and ring you up. Wild!Highly Recommended!!!

Inside, the people are always nice and things are kept up and clean. My complaint is having a drive-thru that you're not able to manage most of the time. Super long waiting times, and now twice I have just given up, stopped waiting to place my order, and left the drive-thru. The first time, I actually drove around to the front and went in to make my purchases. Yesterday, after about 10 minutes of waiting (after being told that they would be with me momentarily), I drove away and went to a competitor a couple of miles down the road. There won't be a third time. If you can't handle the customers in your drive-thru line, then close it permanently!

The new red head cashier is awful. She has a bad attitude and seeing her dead eyes stare at me as I approach the counter makes me want to pick a different gas station

The staff is constantly rude and unprofessional. The only reason I will ever come back to this store is if I have no other option.

My husband was in there at 9:30 this morning (6/6) waiting patiently over 5 minutes in line with 4+ people behind him. When it was his turn the same rude lady (who I often run into) told him to get out of line and accused him of cutting although he wasn't. It's the last straw. She might hate men, hard to tell with her mask on. I can see a person having a bad day but this lady has a bad day everyday. We're going to start driving further to miss this gas station, I've watched her yell and be bossy at other customers, mostly men. If the store wants to keep this lady despite the way she treats folks, the store doesn't get to keep taking our money for THAT attitude.

Feel as though I’m being discriminated and judged for my looks based on how they talk to and look at me compared to other customers.

Wanted to get my propane tank refilled. Let the cashier know, said they were busy so it'd be a "little bit". Went back in after 30 minutes of waiting, which was at 3 pm, when I was told by the cashier that they were short handed and no one would be available until 4 pm. An hour and a half for one tank of propane is not a 'little bit" of time. They could have just been honest up front no one was available.

I come here specifically because they have dippin' dots and Ghardetto's Mustard Pretzels! I don't even live by this store, but if I'm driving West to Caldwell past Ten Mile, on the Freeway, I will exit just to go here. If they had Granny B sugar cookies I would come here even more! I am a snacker! I also love their raspberry chocolate candy bars and amaretto chocolate covered almonds! If you want a good treat or snack this is the best gas station I know of.
