After patiently waiting on hold for over an hour to speak with someone regarding my recently paid off car loan, I learn that CapEd does not refund for unused portions of your GAP insurance! I have had numerous vehicle loans in my lifetime with various banks; Chase, ICCU, Wells Fargo, Westmark, just to name a few. I have always added GAP insurance to my loan, which is based on the price and term of the loan. When you cancel your GAP policy early due to early payoff, you'll receive a GAP insurance refund reimbursing you with a portion of your unused premium. I paid off this loan 4 years early and CapEd will be the first bank to not reimburse the unused GAP. We have banked with CapEd for nearly 20 years, but this, on top of the fact that their hold times are 1-2 hours if you want to actually speak with someone, we are switching credit unions.

DONT BANK HERE. These people are thieves. I get a letter every month that charges me (the father of 2 children whom I opened accounts for) a $5 fee because the bank does not have a good address for my kids.When these accounts were set up, I lived in another state and wanted to get money to my kids quickly. Since they growing up...they don't use this bank. Unfortunately the savings accounts are "SUPPOSED" to collect interest...these accounts have NEVER collected ANYTHING except a negative balance.When I call to clear this up, they ask me for a password to get into the account... a password that my kids set up...they also refuse to over ride the password so I can find out which kid they are billing...I hope they fail like FIRST REPUBLIC. ?

you can't call a branch or talk to a human being. I have a bank emergency and a large sum of money is missing. No one to help. Now I have to drive out of my way and leave work to take care of this. Customer service in ALL branches is mediocre at best. Competency is Less than par. Overall. the worst bank I've ever had. will be switching back to CHASE in the near future. NEVER had a problem there and customer service was amazing!!!!!

I have called and called and called and all I get is that stupid elevator music. I call right when they open and suddenly all the agents are busy? I don’t think so. Can someone please call me back? That would be wonderful assuming it’s your job. Thanks!

People in the branches are fantastic. That’s what CapEd does right. Just don’t ever have an issue that requires service by phone. Multiple times sat on hold for an hour. Would be less stressful to just drive 50 miles to the branch than wait for eternity to get help.

Horribly trained staff by a horrible trained manager. Common sense evades them. Yes, all documents are turned in if a loan officer put the money for a loan into your account. How is this not known? Banks must give out free money so much that it confused them. They made everything and headache for no reason.

Was a couple days late getting my insurance added to my account and they added a $500 premium for ONE MONTH of insurance onto my loan. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid getting a loan from here at if any way possible.

I have a loan through cap Ed. They have completely destroyed my credit that was nearly perfect. They have mess up my billing several times. I have overpaid by $1000 now and they still report that my payments weren't made. They can't even explain some of the bills they have sent. Now when I try to call to talk with someone, it's between 26-98 people in que before me. Worst service ever and they ruined my chance to buy a house because this is taking so long to deal with that I had to get a rental.

So, after reading reviews, it looks like right off the bat they have a very poor response time in answering the phone. I was wanting to open an account at CapEd and had a few questions but the long wait was ridiculous. It's sad, CapEd's responses to other peoples reviews only say "we are working towards resolving" but that doesnt resolve anything and is just lip service. They just dont want to hire more people. Anyway, this was a very bad start and they lost a good customer before I even began doing business with them. Trust me...the other reviews are accurate...it is difficult to speak to someone personally, over the phone.

They are happy to take your money! But you can't get a real person on the phone at any of there branches...for example to pay off your loan...you need the exact amount...leave messages and a real person never calls you back...NOT how I like to do business!

This locations ATMs are down constantly! If you’re going to have a teller free location have working machines. Literally every time there’s issues with one or more of the ATMs.

No one answers the phones. Hopefully your card works and you're not in a time crunch and suddenly need assistance. Took 40 minutes to get through, incredibly frustrating, but once I got through the gal I spoke to was great.

Mike was amazing to work with on our mortgage! He took the time to answer all of our questions and made the whole process go much smoother than we expected. Everything was completed in a timely manner, allowing us to close on our house early. Outstanding service and highly recommended!
