I talked to someone on the phone who told me about a study that would pay $750 and we reviewed my medical history and the study requirements over the phone. I made an appointment and after spending an hour discussing the study with the nurse, I found out that the study only paid $625, then that the information given to me over the phone was incorrect , and I would not be eligible for the study. I was given a $15 gift card to reimburse me for my gas - WHOPPEE!!! What about my wasted time?????????????

I would never consider participating in clinical studies if my friend didn't tell me about her positive experience with Velocity. Don't know if I'm allowed to mention which study I am doing, but it's a year and a half commitment. Let's just say, I hope I am contributing toward something that will benefit countless others in the future. The bonus of it, of course, is you are also compensated. All my visits, so far, include blood draws - and some with urine samples, blood pressure, EKG and height/weight. Turns out, my veins are not being very cooperative (think it's an age thing) and the blood draws have been quite the experience. What prompted me to write a review is one of their phlebotomists, Flor. She has been doing this for 20 years and I ask for her each time I go in. Daniel is also very good. Most times, I don't feel a thing. If anything, it's good for me as I have dreaded needles all my life. Well, this experience is taking care of that. After my initial screening, my first visit was 8 hours and I could not leave the facility. That was a challenge, but I came prepared. Everyone I've encountered is friendly, courteous and professional. So far, this has been an interesting life experience. If you are considering doing a clinical trial and are in the Boise area, I'd go with Velocity.

Been closed for 2 years, but it was nice to not have to drive all the way downtown to take a class.

This was my first experience with Advanced Clinical Research. My friend has been participating in their studies for a couple of years now and got me to join her. Tucked into an 'office park' behind the McDonald's on just off the freeway at Eagle Road, the location can be a bit of a chanllenge to find. The staff are friendly and courteous, they go out of their way to see that study particpants are comfortable and feel valued, as any company relying on volunteers should. I'll add updates as things progress.
