Is the Co-Op more expensive than other grocery stores? Sure. Do they work to support the community and offer foods you can't get anywhere else? Also yes. Whenever I'm looking for local food, I shop the Co-Op first. I love the freshness of their produce and that they support nearby farms. They also label everything so you know exactly where it comes from. Beyond that, they have natural brands you can't find anywhere else. The deli has awesome prepared foods, including vegetarian and vegan options. I enjoy the bakery and their cakes and cookies are hard to beat. You can also get bread from Zeppole and local bakers that are hearty and fresh every day. Definitely check out the Co-Op. Just don't get the deli coffee--I'm not sure who makes it but it's too dark and bitter.

We liked the organic items that are more difficult to find at our other stores. I became a member for the once a month 20% off locally produced items including coffee roasted here in Boise, and our once a month 10% off other items.

Excellent food choices, and helpful staff! Clean and well organized. I'll be shopping here, as Naty G's was a big disappointment.

Not only is it expensive they are a joke. Their membership makes you think your doing something for yourself by shopping their andnscanning your card each time because they give a dividend at the end of the year...but guess what I spent thousands of dollars there over the year ..yes up until the deadline.. and they only gave me a 9 dollar dividend. They have completelt lost me as a customer.

My favorite place when visiting the Boise / Eagle area! A wonderful health food store with an impressive amount of vegan, gluten free, and wheat free options. Beautifully stocked shelves, high quality produce, and the hot food options are very satisfying even if you have food sensitivities. They have wheat free pizza by the slice, served fresh and hot. I can't wait to come back to this store when I'm in town again!

SHAME SHAMEI'm sorry to do this. I've been a member for some time now, appreciate and respect the fact that we have or HAD a store that supports natural, organic, healthy life style.Recently shopped and to my BIGGEST, shocked surprise, i saw Advil and Tylenol on the shelve and check stand. This is a DRUG that can be purchased at any corner gas station, grocery store, airport, etc. To see it on the shelves at Boise CoOp, is a complete contradiction of what this store stands, believes, healthly and natural living. What will be next, Maybelline beauty products, Pepsi, Doritos, how about you put Bud Light in the cooler too?

Awesome selection of health foods! Lots of vegan options which can sometimes be difficult to find. I also loved having a cafe where you can order lunch or a coffee to go!

Love the Co op! It is where I do most of my shopping because they offer so many local and organic products! The staff is very kind and I could shop there for hours! I love how their coffee shop is all organic and even use organic milk, I just wish their hot bar (burritos, sandwichs) used all organic products, especially the cheese and meat, and that they wouldn't use inflammatory oils like sunflower oil.

Love Boise Co-op. Great selection of items and super helpful staff. If that's not enough, membership perks will convince you to join. Best selection of lactose free items in the area. Thanks Boise Co-op.

I have mostly good things to say about co-op. We come here religiously because they have a great selection of healthy items, the food they serve is good, and the staff is very friendly. However, two points: One, it is very expensive. Two, the amount of expired or close to expiring items is becoming an issue. I’m surprised there aren’t other reviews mentioning this. Certain dairy products like raw milk is often right about to expire, or go bad within days of purchasing (I know this is in part an issue with the milk companies, but it has been several different brands and the co-op could be better about not putting out product that is set to expire in a few days, because they do it a lot). I have since noticed other product I’ve purchased from here have expired like bags of dried chilies (which would have to make it SUPER old) and even ice cream two months after purchasing. I feel like they need to be more diligent about this, especially for how costly the products are.

The girl at the register is a robot or stoned. Can't understand a simple question just kept repeating the same answer over and over. Asked to speak with a manager and she couldn't even comprehend that

They have my favorite yogurt here, the organic white mountain. They sell it for $11 (last time I checked). If I go to any other place that sells it, it is around $5. Their organic asparagus can be $8 a pound or more, and at Whole Foods in Boise, I can get a bunch of organic asparagus for around $4. I make a lot of my food from scratch and try to get the best quality while being frugal. Countless times I’ve realized that the prices at this grocery store are way higher than other places. Boise co-op what is with the huge mark ups? What about being fair and reasonable? I rarely shop here now because I know I can get better deals almost anywhere else.

Very disappointed! Went in with my son on April 15 and I already knew what I was looking for and went straight to the makeup area. As I walked around the area for about 10 minutes not once did I get greeted and asked if I needed help. Saw two employees chatting at the area counter. I was there for awhile I even FaceTime my friend to ask her what she thought of certain colors of the makeup I was looking at. The two employees greeted two ladies and asked if they needed help but me nothing. Was it because I am Mexican? Or I don’t know how to speak English? Sometimes it makes you wonder why and what is the reason the employees did not greet me…little do those employees know I am from Idaho and I speak great English. I really did not want to buy anything after I was never greeted but I needed the stuff what I intentionally came in the store for and spent $80. I will not be returning to this store again horrible customer service and the employees need training. Nobody should be treated this way no matter color or race. How hard is it to be kind. It does not cost anything to just be kind.

BUYER BEWARE. I have been going to the Boise Co-Op in Meridian for over 6 months. Every time I check out at the register I am charged a higher price at the register for at least one item if not more items than the listed or advertised price. I mean EVERY.TIME. Would this be considered stealing from unaware customers? Supervisors don't care and a store complaint didn't change their behavior. I am from out of state and thought that Idaho would be more ethical than this. I am very disappointed in this store especially because they pretend to have a caring philosophy. WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS. !!!!!!!!

Boise Co-op Deli catered our garden club's district meeting - platters of breakfast breads, boxed sandwiches, individual salads, and wrapped chocolate chip cookies. It was a great experience and an easy meal for us to offer our guests.
