Squeezed us in during our hardest time. We moved here a week ago and our already sick dog took a sudden downturn and unfortunately needed to be laid to rest.
They were very caring and understanding of the situation.

Pretty pathetic can't even get a dog in that probably is dying she has a distended gut and a tumor on her arm and they don't even have time to even suggest a place for her to go wouldn't suggest taking your animals here

It takes at least 6 months to get in for a routine appointment unless you want to pay for an emergency visit. The care also isn't the best, I've had to take my dog to another vet on emergency after TWO appointments with Southway telling us he was fine (he was not). Definitely recommend Rustebakke or Riverview.RE: I understand Southway only has one doctor but if its going to be this messy please replace Ard and continue with 2 veterinarians as before.

We called for a emergency care for our dog. They won't except new clients. What kind of er is this. So sad can't get care for a very sick dog.

Was a customer for 20 years, always paid my bills, brought them loads of lucrative visits owning six active German Shorthairs, and when they had some disagreement with another family member, which I wasn't aware of nor had anything at all to do with, they simply turned me away when I had an emergency injured dog, not even willing to offer trying the next day. They also botched a cheet grass surgery on one of my dogs, had to return 3 times before they finally got it all removed, charging three times for something they messed up, not me, and dismissively acted like the blame was mine when they didn't realize someone else was nearby and watched and heard it while I was in one the patient rooms. Had a great deal of respect for the prior owner, even though I could tell he didn't think highly of me, because my father had been friends with him for years. And while the new vets taking over were never rude, turning away someone who paid thousands of dollars over decades, treating him like his pets injuries weren't their problem anymore, because my family member had had enough of their very unhelpful attitudes when her dog was near death that she probably could've handled better but was also processing another recent family death, is simply callous unacceptable behavior. And finding out how different, and how much more professional treatment has been across the bridge at Riverview, who can remove cheet without making a wound any bigger than a dot, not that unsuccessful slicing open a whole leg three times to actually get it right, made walking away from Southway, the only place I ever went, very easy if incredibly disappointing. Nor do I think someone who prefers vaccinating every few years, versus money stuffing annual visits that aren't necessary, should be treated like they aren't the preferred customer who gave them gobs of money over the decades, who is also one of the most conscientious pet owners you'll ever meet. Know they have unending business to replace me, but integrity matters, treating people responsible enough to always rush their dogs in when injured like they aren't is repugnant, and I hope no other long-time customers face the same ridiculous behavior, because being treated that way by a service you've been loyal to for decades just plain hurts; and simply turning away an emergency of a long time, responsible customer who has always been respectful and paid his bills is just plain despicable. German Shorthairs can be very reckless, and six of them can often seem like a rotating vet door when they're young, which in no way should mean being treated like you're irresponsible. Oh well, it certainly didn't hurt my six dogs, who are receiving better care. And if you cannot find the name in your files it obviously was erased, but I assure between my mom and me, my dad when he was still here, there's huge accounting file of proof.
