This experience was stellar from start to finish! Sue, Dr. Randy Acker and all of the staff were amazing. They took great care of our dog and were very kind to me as well. Dr. Acker called when he was done with her surgery and gave me an excellent update. I was able to call that evening as well to check on her. They gave me a time to pick her up the next day and she was ready right on time. Sue was incredibly kind and helpful on the phone as well as Dr. Acker before we scheduled surgery. He called to check on her at home a few days later and we also had a 2nd call the next day to make sure she was doing well. Sue got me set up with a lovely hotel for the night that gives a hospital rate and I appreciated it very much. I highly recommend Dr. Acker and his team. Our dog is doing great 4 days post op and I expect her to have an amazing recovery!

The service was fine, they got my pup in without an advance appointment. But, like everything else in this world, "it's all about the money." Very expensive visit in comparison to when I visit the doctor. I guess folks who are on a fixed budget simply should not have a pet. Like my family growing up. We were poor and too many children made it impossible for my mom to ever take in for medical care. Same now with my children, my dogs.

We just contacted them today. We live out of state and have been looking around several states: California, Nevada, Idaho for the best elbow surgeon around. This place and Dr. Acker came highly recommended by several sources. I did some research on the Dr. and he has excellent credentials. So, this morning we had our vet send him our boy's xrays. He limps when playing sometimes. Our vet said it was the worst elbow they have ever seen. Sent me into panic mode and I'm telling my wife schedule him for surgery tomorrow! Dr. Acker does elbows all day long at his practice. Lots of them is an understatement. He reassured us it is minor arthritis and the surgery may or may not produce a better outcome. I can stop the valium and vodka drip into my veins now. He also told us what to look for if it gets worse, how to treat it ongoing without a surgical option. And if our 2nd opinion starts trying to upsell several items; gave us the pro's and con's of each one. He didn't even charge us to look over the x-rays and consult us over the phone. Plus I still can't get over the level of service. Seriously. Same day within hours of them receiving the xray's called my wife. Who couldn't pick up the phone as she was in a Dr. office. So she called back and he was in surgery. But, he called within the hour again. Thank you for caring more about the patient than the profit. You're a unicorn in life DR. I don't care where I am in the Country. If I ever need surgical care for my kids. This is where we are going.

We brought our McNab Collie here for a specialized orthopedic surgery upon referral from our local veterinarian and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and follow up. Dr. Tobias is an expert in this type of procedure and the entire staff is knowledgeable, proficient and caring.

DO NOT DO TCPLO/TPLO SURGERIES!!!Your puppy will have a better chance with a torn ACL:Sun Valley Animal Center attempted to kill my beautiful puppy, FENTANYL (75mg/hr)... 2 is lethal... Plus; add in the Epidural (nerve block) and other pain killers (recommended)! They claim the TCPLO (TPLO) surgery went well and there was no issues!Approximately 6 months later now; my princess is finally starting to get back on her feet... "Sun Valley recommendations are set backs!" I have recently stopped following Sun Valley recommendations and started to do my own intense physical therapy! She is finally progressing!!!24/7 care (Be very CAUTIOUS)! Also; please be aware of your capabilities, to care for and have your pets cared for (aftercare is intense and heartbreaking)!Please; find a better Veterinarian, to care for your loved ones!!!
