My sister and I were on a roadtrip to Washington state when we started loosing power on the road. Every other shop in town was full and turned us away, but not Empey's. These guys are honest and truly want to get you fixed up. They took the time to do a full diagnostic, just to make sure we had all our bases covered, then swapped out our spool valve (a part that was "supposedly" fixed (TWICE!) by another mechanic just days before our trip). We were able to finish the trip with no other issues!I truly cannot thank these guys enough for how they helped us when we were stranded. Y'all are truly a blessing!

I hate reviews and always prefer to form my own opinion through experience. My reason for writing this review is to showcase a situation (most likely rare) that happened here at Empey's in hopes that someone can explain how & when a business should or should not eat the cost on their work.My car spent a total of 1 month at Empey's. Halfway through the month I traveled home to retrieve the car only to make it 17 miles off Empey's parking lot before the car returned to its original issues. 2 weeks later I received a phone call stating, "we are throwing in the white towel, we cannot fix your car".A respectable phone call.My frustration came once I received the bill with a grand total of $3,459.07. Yes, parts and labor are all costs a business will accumulate but this car is now functioning the same as day 1. What did those parts do? I paid for an actuator, variable valve timing solenoid, and labor for both totaling $2,293.41. The remaining amount was more attempts at solving the issue which was ultimately unsuccessful but totaled $1,165.66.There was $700 cut from the grand total following a few conversations between myself and the GM.At what point does a company stand by their work or lack of and eat the cost of a failed attempt at fixing the vehicle? Not failed in the sense of driving the vehicle hundreds of miles post fix and having a few issues down the road but more along the failed sense line of "We are throwing in the white towel, we cannot fix your car"Parts were purchased, changed out, and are now one with the vehicle. However, these parts produced zero change in the function of the vehicle and my car remains the same as day 1. All other attempts outside of the parts were a valiant yet unnecessary effort, hence the, "We are throwing in the white towel, we cannot fix your car"This might happen 2 times a year because Empey's, more than likely, has great mechanics. My wonder is if or when it does happen again...1)Should this change anything with the grand total?2)How drastic of a change should occur?3)Is there more conversations that need to be had?4)What is the best solution for both parties to feel good?5)Do parts get taken back/exchanged?Could be a million "what ifs" along with millions of potential solutions to this situation or it could be as simple as the business does what the business deems fair because it's the businesses business. Conclusion:My car could not be fixed here at Empey's. After a long waiting period I still need to find a new shop to fix my car. Not happy with the outcome of the car or the shops solution to make it right. Ultimately wishing the results were different but, life moves on. With all that said, Empey's customer services was always top notch. Super friendly all the way from the reception, the tech, and management. If it mattered, which these never do, I would award Empey's a firm 3.9 stars based solely off my one experience.

Great experience on the phone while booking the appointment and able to "get me in quick". Dropped my vehicle off at 10am as requested for them to check into a leak from the front axle as well as an oil change while it was in and they asked if they could keep it into the next day if they had to - never heard anything from them so I called before closing to check in, they said they'd need to keep it into the next day. Following day never heard from them again so I called around 2pm as they close at 6pm. They said they hadn't even assessed what needed done to my vehicle and I expressed I would need my vehicle back that evening. They said they'd look into it again and call back...never did. I showed up at 5:30pm to get my vehicle and nothing had been done in 2 days. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in the customer service, effort and poor scheduling on Empey's part. Will not return and do not recommend - you'll lose time.

Repair went faster than I thought. I dropped my vehicle off on a Wednesday afternoon and it was ready on Monday afternoon. I was 7th in line. The problem was electrical. I was happy to get it back and the electrical short in the signal system was new again.

Called and scheduled a diagnostic on my Chev Cruze and was quoted $155. Showed up to pick it up and they charged me $250. No phone call, nothing, just decided I needed to be charged an extra hundred bucks. Buyer beware.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Beware. We have used this shop a few times. Each time we set a morning apt. at the end of the day I call to get the status of the vehicle and only then do they start working on our car. We had a 4 brake job (pads/rotors) done 10 months (9k miles) ago and our mini van now has a shake when using the brakes. Empeys is not honoring the 3yr warranty they claim. Instead, they want to redo the same job at our expense. When I went to pick up the vehicle they wanted to charge me for an oil change that I did not ask for.Service: Auto brake repair

They got the A/C repaired. After two visits and $1,100. The first time they told me a valve was leaking and it would be $600 for everything to get the AC working. When I got my car back, the AC stopped working within a day. I took it back and they didn't warranty the repair because they "just noticed there's another leak" and that it would be another $500 to rapair. Both visits they said they forgot to do the inspection on the vehicle.

I used this shop for my truck and was happy with the service and of course I got a list of things that needed to be done… but since I could do them myself I decline for them to do them. Then when I brought my wife’’s car in for an oil change…I got the same list and they told me the transmission oil needed changing badly…but I had that done 25k miles ago at a Honda Dealership. So now I don’t trust them :( Any shop that pulls that on me it’s over.. no 2nd chances. :/Service: Oil change

They may not be pretty lookin' but they know how to fix cars and they're honest about it. Greg is awesome and takes whatever time you need to help explain the repairs needed and recommendations.

Thank You Empey’s for getting us quickly back on the road! Greg was not only professional, he was transparent and thoughtful before, during and after the repairs were completed. The service on my van was done in a very timely manner. The service technician came out and explained the details to us so we left feeling confident that our vehicle was well taken care of. I needed maintenance on my vehicle with a specific timeline. I expressed my concerns when scheduling my vehicle. Empey's went the extra mile to make sure the service was provided in a timely manner and had my car completed a day earlier than anticipated. I really appreciated their service and efforts to accommodate me.Services: General repairs & maintenance

Had a great experience with Empey’s! Greg up front was very receptive to my concerns and kept me in the loop throughout the process. I greatly appreciated that. The mechanics were fantastic as well and came out and spoke to me about my vehicle. Overall I had a great experience and will return in the future.Service: General repairs & maintenance

You can trust this shop. I had an old truck that I didn’t want to let go of, but with the brake lines completely rusted out it was the best choice. They taught me all about it so that I wouldn’t waste money, and they even gave me a very fair price to unload it on them. I was very grateful for their commitment to the customer!Service: Brake service & repair

Reliable, fair, and experts! They’ve taken care of all my maintenance for years and they don’t nickel and dime you. Recently I had work done but also needed windshield wipers replaced and they did that free of charge workout even a discussion. They know how to take care of their customers to make everything less stressful.Service: Oil change
