“Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Extremely clean hotel and room! THE BEST HOTEL BREAKFAST I’VE EVER HAD!! The pool was perfect. It has a hot tub, pool that goes to 5 ft deep, cornhole, a nice cabana with furniture, and lots of patio tables and chairs with umbrellas! Absolutely zero complaints!!”

“Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. The whole experience was amazing! On our 10th wedding anniversary I needed to come up with a special getaway to celebrate. In an entire decade, my wife and I had enjoyed healthy children and lots of love between us. However, we had experienced just about every calamity and financial rain cloud imaginable. Never much extra to spend on celebrations for our special day. Then comes a lucky windfall. So. I decided it was time to get it right and go all in. I booked 2 nights at the Greenbrier Inn for a romantic weekend. We pulled up to the Inn after dark and it looked magical and welcoming. We entered the lobby and we're greeted with warm smiles and genuinely happy employees. Our room was clean and well kept. Rae had the room looking wonderful when we got there. She also texted me late in the morning just to see if we needed anything for our stay. The GM Mike was extremely friendly and accessible. He actually coordinated with the local bake shop Hannah Kay's, to deliver a replica top cake of our original wedding cake. So wonderful. Such great service from start to finish. And the attached restaurant Cuisine 315. My god! I could live there. Such a friendly staff. Perfect food and drinks. The combination of everything made for the most beautiful and memorable anniversary weekend we have ever had. So special. Thank you to the entire staff! We will definitely be back annually.

Rooms: Very nice rooms. The building is a historic marker and retains it's class as such. However, the lobby and the rooms are updated and comfortable. Plenty of extras.

Walkability: Just a few minutes away from the lakeside downtown area. A straight shot. No hills. No fear of danger in the area.

Food and drinks: Raven the bartender was RAD! I do not dole the word RAD out lightly. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun. The entire wait staff at the attached Cuisine 315 was amazing. The whole crew deserves major kudos. They all contributed to a very special and memorable 10th anniversary experience. We won't visit the area without dining there. Drinks at the very least.”

“It's a beautiful home but could use some TLC. The decor doesn't really fit the charming style of the home. Feels kind of cheap and like they just put in there whatever they could find. Our bedspread was very drab and just could have been much cuter. Definitely try to book a room with its own bathroom. Walking across the hall to your bathroom (even though it's just for you) running into other guests in their robes is awkward. Lastly, having to wait until 9am for the breakfast is pretty late for most people. Then when it is served it was only one hot item so we could've just eaten some fruit hours earlier. Also no toast or cereal variety.”

“Very nice stay, very family friendly, great pool area! Only thing that could be improved is house keeping daily, they got behind and all our garbage piled up. Other than that it was a nice stay!

Nearby activities: We stayed here because we were on vacation for Silverwood theme park, just a quick 25 minute drive each way!”

“With the understanding that this hotel is one of the first hotels in cda, it has VERY old bones, I love that the new owners are updating the room one by one! Although I love the rustic feel of it all and like I’m in my very own cabin I am excited to see the room updates. The newest updated room is the ocean room, the next one to be finished is the garden room! I 10/10 recommend this hotel. It’s perfect for a couples getaway and family vacation. The pool is huge and very nice in the summer, with a little grassy play area for the kiddos or pups, there is so much to do nearby also.

In response to the previous bad reviews, insects and cobwebs are to be expected in a rustic old building, my many many stays there including staying in the weekly’s for a few months, the owners have been nothing but kind, professional and accommodating. They empty and clean the hot tubs after every single check out to ensure cleanliness.”

“I just wanted to preface this review by saying we booked due to a company cruise and were purely looking for a spot that was easy for Uber access, and a place to sleep after the party. Our criteria for selecting the room may be different than other travelers.
We arrived and were greeted by fresh cookies, friendly staff, and hot coffee!! There was a line at check in that was a little slow, and by no fault of the hotel, we were running late. Once I paid attention, I realized it was because the agent was taking the time to line out a map for someone who had never been in the area. Though we were short on time, I thought that was cool. Good customer service.

We didn't have a chance to check out the pool, but it appeared clean and most importantly, stocked with towels, unlike seemingly every other hotel I've stayed at. After the cruise, we stopped at the little pantry and found another friendly desk agent involved in an exciting conversation about travel with a guest. Something about the experience just felt “homey.” Everyone we encountered genuinely seemed happy to be there.

The room - was it the cleanest? No, but definitely acceptable. Was it the quietest? Also no... we heard what sounded like someone's smoke alarm around 3:00 am. However, I recently stayed at a certain “historic luxury” hotel 30 minutes away for double the price – it was no cleaner and was certainly louder than this room.

BREAKFAST. BLESS!!! A hotel that still has breakfast included!! I expected an apple and a prepackaged muffin in a bag, which seems to be the norm these days (if included at all). Instead: bagels, sausage, bacon, juice, fresh fruit, yogurt… the eggs were from frozen patties, which made for a BOMB breakfast sandwich after a long night.

Overall, I didn’t expect much but left very impressed and excited to return!

P.S. If you want a cookie, grab one at check in. They eventually put them away, and I’ve been thinking about that dang cookie for a month now…”

“Really good for the price. Free breakfast with toaster, waffle maker, even scrambled eggs and sausage, all in a lovely sunny breakfast room.
Rooms a bit dark and cool but otherwise ok, good furnishings and above all quiet. There was also free access to the hotel pool, and a pleasant bar is within walking distance.
Overall I was satisfied, you have to look at the price-performance ratio here and I thought that was really good, especially since everything else is expensive in the USA!”
