Blackwell Hotel is a charming and historic establishment that offers a unique getaway experience. Guests appreciate the beautiful home and its character, although some feel it could benefit from a bit of tender loving care. The decor has received mixed reviews, with some describing it as mismatched and lacking charm. Guests are advised to book rooms with private bathrooms to avoid awkward shared facilities. The hotel features a cozy atmosphere with amenities such as a pool table and a lounge area where guests can unwind. While breakfast is served at 9 a.m., some visitors found this timing inconvenient, although they enjoyed the homemade options like French toast and cheesy eggs. The self-service kitchen is a nice touch, providing snacks, coffee, and oatmeal. Parking is available along the street, and the location is convenient for exploring the downtown area, making it easy for guests to stroll to nearby dining options. Overall, Blackwell Hotel is a great choice for those who love old homes and seek a peaceful retreat, with friendly staff and a welcoming environment. Despite some minor issues like Wi-Fi connectivity, many guests express a desire to return for another stay, making it a popular choice for short getaways.
The Blackwell has become our go-to for a night away. It's a beautiful place that's close to home, but worlds away. It's a beautiful place that's nice and quiet. My only complaint is the matress is a little too firm for my liking, but we like it plush.

First time at the Blackwell for us. Weboth love old homes and we were so happy to have stayed in this beautiful and historic home. Played pool and drank wine by the fire. Location was perfect for us. Strolleddown the street for dinner. Our daughter lives in Canada so I believe this will be our stopping point from now on.
