Welcoming and helpful group staffing this center. They don't turn you away when you come in half way through the lunch hour like the Rupert Senior Center does. The place is very spacious with a lot of amenities that make it a comfortable place to hang out. Currently being under-utilized, and hours are limited. It's a shame you can't just hang out there for the entire day! They have a pool table, fireplace, lending library, comfortable reading chairs, computers, WiFi and Internet access, piano, lots of tables for craft projects. Game nights are limited to old card games that just don't appeal to the younger Boomer crowd and currently only two craft/art options are offered during the month: painting and card making. If they could offer more classes that are free or a bare minimum like $5-10 so seniors on social security could actually justify diverting $10 from their food and medicine budget, then the place could be fully utilized by the older community. It's extremely difficult to try and justify spending $60 on a class, even if it is an exercise class! Many communities offer free tai chi and gentle yoga or similar classes for seniors, but here the price of joining the senior exercise class is too high. This Center is a very comfortable place to hang out in, like a very large living room, where you could possibly meet other seniors and chit chat over coffee!--unfortunately the hours are limited to just the lunch hour unless there is an activity scheduled. Lunch is fantastic, prepared on site, with wonderful, friendly and courteous staff.

The folks are always so extremely friendly. It's a wonderful place to gather to share a meal and just to get out and socialize. They do the best job they can possibly do with the food. It is yummy.

I'm not yet a senior, but I enjoy lunch regularly. I stay over on Thursdays for the painting class too. The staff are always happy to see everyone that comes through the doors. Britt runs a tight ship. Go by for lunch and you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Nice, fun people run the burley senior center! You don't have to be older to eat here or play bingo or anything else. Anyone can come! $5 for 13 and up and $3 for kids under 12 to eat. My daughter and I went. While I ate and visited she played with other kids on the pool table.
