The kid zone times make it very hard to go every day with multiple kids/school drop offs/naps etc. Wish it was open all day or at least until 1 or 2! Plus there are so many kids in there from 10-12- it would be nice to spread it out a little with more hours.

I'm thoroughly disappointed by the staff at this facility. I took my four kids swimming and considering buying a membership, but experienced a very stressful event. While I was in the kiddie pool with my youngest, my older daughter approached me screaming that my son had a pin stuck to his foot. I immediately dashed to his side, and found him sitting at the edge of the pool surrounded by half a dozen young boy lifeguards. My son had been playing in the shallow pool when he stepped on a loose earring that impaled his foot. The lifeguards were clueless as to what to do, and didn't even help hold him up as he hopped on one foot over to a chair! I asked if they would remove the earring, and they said no, they would have to call EMT for that, I'm assuming to avoid the risk of bleeding. I knew he wouldn't bleed out, so I said I would do it, and I began to assume the role of the EMT: asking for gauze, pulling out the earring, requesting disinfectant, bandages, and medical tape and doing the work myself. They all just stood there. I asked them what they would do in a more pressing emergency, and they said, "call an EMT." They have ZERO medical training, and there is no one in the facility that can provide emergency care. At that point, the lifeguards went back to their places without an apology, or an offer to help us to the car. I asked at the pool desk if they had a wheelchair and they said no, without sympathy. I then went to the front desk to speak to a manager about the stressful incident we had experienced, and to request a refund for not being able to spend the day there as planned, and he did not provide me with a refund, just a pass to return. Then he had the gall to ask me why I don't have a membership, while proceeding to attempt to sell me on one. I was flustered and stressed about my child being injured on their grounds, and instead of assistance and empathy, I got a sales pitch! It was unbelievable. My son was fine, but their lack of concern and assistance left a terrible taste in my mouth. This could have happened in the kiddie pool, to a toddler as they sat in the pool, or crawled on their hands, and let me tell you, it would have been ugly. But my little guy didn't make a scene, even when a thick, half inch of metal went through his foot. In the future, I would recommend a no-earring policy in the shallow pools to avoid anyone else being impaled by a metal object, as well as basic and useful medical training for the lifeguards. Don't let the St. Alphonsus clinic in there fool you--there is no one there to help you in an emergency.

Had a very bad experience- my complaints are for either bad and arrogant front desk and or poor management. Facts my daughter had a swimming competition at this y location recently at hot summer weather. I had to present my driver license to use the bath near the front desk of mid-aged women without entering the gate. Very arrogant and demeaning attitude . I would never recommend this y to anyone period!!! She demanded no license no restroom.
Updated- Lying about policy and ID, while I was asked for driver license, there were multiple people entering into the y without being stopped or asked. Meanwhile, swimming pool side has restroom, I didn’t see any y people or associates working there to supervise or checking any age below 18 or driver license demanded. Lying again!?

WOW. As a Canadian coming from a wealthy community that doesn’t have anything close to these facilities, I absolutely love this place. Everything you could want in a workout facility, great pool with attentive lifeguards, and free childcare while you workout?! Our kids loved the activity centre and the climbing wall (which they could use without our supervision!) and we all had fun at the pool. We only scratched the surface of what this facility had to offer because we were just passing through, but if I lived in this community I would probably bring my family there for activities five days a week! Staff was also so friendly and helpful. If anything could be improved, I would love it if the kids activity centre didn’t have video games or screens. Thanks so much for running a first class facility!

Love the affordability of a $2 shower, with steam room and sauna included. Also, the layout of the private, family bathrooms with showers is a smart design for families or people who want more privacy. Pretty amazing facility, although a bit dated. Clean too

A great place to work out with modern equipment. A separate weight room with squat racks and leg presses. Cardio equipment galore.. Clean locker rooms with steam and sauna rooms and ample shower's. Great for young and old alike. A very friendly staff ready to help.

This facility and the people are amazing! They have every type of exercise equipment and every class you could want, and many you didn't know you wanted! Everyone is kind and friendly, from Blanche, who gives you your tour and knows many patrons by name, to the instructors (shout out to Erin and Michelle) who modify moves for you and are kind and encouraging. The other patrons are friendly. It is a wonderful experience. I can't wait to spend more time there, it is such a pleasure.

Wonderful facility! It’s one of the nicest aquatic facilities in the PNW, and that’s not an exaggeration!

So dissatisfied with this YMCA. Has beautiful water slide, rock wall and kids lounge, closed half the time!!! This is such a bait and switch when you sign up for a membership. Seems like they have all these great things for families then they have horrible hours and aren’t open half the time.

Not good for families. Activities that are popular for young children, such as rock climbing and swimming, are very frequently unavailble unless you are in a class. The kids pool is closed more often than not after 5pm. The training pool is only open from 7-8:30. The slide is almost never open. If you are signing up as a family activity, I recommend finding something else.

Have been coming to the Y for several years now. The employees are all wonderful, but the child care has very few hours and difficult to get reservations if not booked well in advance. I can’t use my membership unless childcare is available so this can be frustrating. I don’t understand how the South Y has childcare offered all day Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings while the West Y offers less than half the hours. We pay the same amount, yet get so much less. The first time I called to ask about this I was told it was secondary to Covid. Two years later when I asked I was told they couldn’t find people to work. Now another year has passed and no changes. At a minimum there should be child care in the evenings Monday-Friday. Evening child care 3 days a week just isn’t acceptable. Hours need to be increased or price should be adjusted accordingly.

Please please enable more options for elementary and middle school kids besides video games. Courts are always dominated by adults or designated during prime family times. I joined in hopes that we could all dive into interests and instead I find myself fighting with schedule restraints around rock gym and trying to convince my son to not hang on me. Members can't agree on what kids my sons age are allowed and not allowed to do and again. Basketball court never open for him.. I didn't join for him to play video games...

My grandma broke her knee while in the facility and the staff were very kind and caring trying to help her although she fell because they didn't put down a wet floor sign
