The Avery Hotel is a beautiful testament to downtown Boise's historic buildings. The staff is so accommodating and knowledgable about the property and all the need to knows about downtown. The soaking tubs are to die for and the beds are so comfortable. Both restaurants downstairs are the best i've had in Boise!Food & drinks: The Avery Brasserie and Tiner's Alley are the two restaurants are both cultivated by a michelin star chef in Boise Idaho. The menu and service are incredible and compliment this historic boutique hotel perfectly.

This is for the restaurant. Nice ambience, pretty good service, good food. But....for a starter we both ordered the squash soup. It was a special that night, and not printed on the menu. I was quite shocked when I got the bill and saw $48 for the two tiny cups of soup! Won't be going back there!

Best food I've paid for. Ordered the Sea Bass special with crispy skin and corn succotash. First time having each and I couldn't have been happier.

Went on a weekly date night with my husband to Avery. We've been on the lookout for really good Espresso Martini's in town with no luck. We got so excited when we saw it on the menu. It was SO GOOD. Started out with a couple of appetizers: Crispy Baby Artichokes and Duck and Rabbit Rillette. For dinner we shared a mixed seafood special they had that evening. Everything was absolutely delicious and their seafood is cooked to perfection! Best seafood I've had in a while. We can't wait to go back for another date night! The atmosphere of the place is romantic with dim lighting and simple, elegant decor.

This is a review for the restaurant. So good! My brother-in-law and his wife took us there for brunch this morning during our visit. With many good choices on the menu, I settled on a starter order of Scotch egg and a side of breakfast sausages for brunch at the last minute. The alternative I considered was grits with a sunny side up egg and cheddar. The egg was perfect 8-minute egg with a slight soft-core yolk coated with layer of deep-fried meaty goodness. It was a generously sized egg placed on a small bed of green salad and bacon pieces so I wouldn't have needed the sausages in retrospect as the side came with 4 fat juicy pieces. The service was very attentive and friendly and the decor was inviting and cozy. It was a yummy start to the weekend.

While I did not stay at the Avery Hotel, this is a fantastic place to get a drink. The hotel lobby bar is beautiful! You'll feel very classy sitting at their stunning wooden bar that's over 100 years old, which was brought in from New York. The ambience is moody but with enough lighting to see and converse. Jamie is the man you have to go to for drinks!! He took care of me and my whole group spectacularly. He made us all some delicious cocktails while entertaining us with history and laughs. Thank you Jamie!

Went for dinner on 11-17-23. The broth for the ravioli was Really Bland (I asked for salt, normally a no-no), almost like water. A member of the waitstaff told us they hear that a lot. The ravioli tasted like it was frozen, not fresh. The cassoulet for my friends was delicious and hearty. Dessert was good/okay, sticky toffee cake and chocolate bread pudding. Service was stellar. Minus a star for the bad ravioli and pricey for what you get. Atmosphere is great. Agree with others the tables are very small and crowded easily. Plating was just so-so, nothing special. A lot of $$ for dishes that could use more expertise.

I had a wonderful dining experience tonight! I sat at the bar and Dustin took excellent care of me. The steak was perfectly prepared and Dustin recommended a great cab to pair with it. The steamed lemon cake is perhaps the best lemon dessert I've had, and I'm a lemon dessert fanatic. The manager, Kami, came around to check on me and left me feeling very welcomed. I can't wait to go back!

I’m not sure why the last review was so negative. I’m staying at The Avery for a business trip and it is absolutely fantastic. It’s in the heart of downtown Boise so it’s accessible to all the lovely local businesses. Everyone who works here are above and beyond friendly, including the housekeeping staff and the Front Desk Manager, who gave me a tour of the accompanying restaurants (The Avery (French cuisine) and Tiner’s Alley (English pub cuisine)- which are run by a Michelin star chef. The beds are SO comfortable, the rooms include a great selection of quality coffee/tea and the design of this place is AMAZING. The details are incredible- from the fascinating paintings that line the hallways, the stylish furniture/furnishings selected, the attention to detail with maintaining the historical quality of the building and the bathroom design. The towels are fluffy, the toiletries are quality and it feels very safe and quiet during my stay here. I truly cannot say enough great things about this place- I already can’t wait to stay here again on my next trip to Boise. If you’re looking for an experience that goes beyond your standard boring corporate hotels, then try this one! I wish I lived in this town so I could take my husband here for a staycation. STAY HERE! You won’t regret it. <3

I booked a regular room well in advance and arrived Sunday October 1 to try this new hotel after many visits to Boise. I was offered a third floor room which had a small window looking directly at roof mechanics from next door. I was then shown a slightly larger room on the fourth floor which looked directly into a brick wall. Ready to leave, I was offered small “suite”302 which do not have bed side tables yet. The hotel lobby comprises of just a reception desk and two guest chairs, the rooms are dark and small with most of them looking at the buildings flanking the hotel. There is no western charm here, just an attempt to cram too many rooms in a building not suited for a hotel given its location with buildings around it. Inn at 500 Capitol will be my next stop.

This review is strictly for the restaurant: Overall, not impressed with our anniversary dinner. While the restaurant is beautiful and draws you in, the food for the price point wasn’t anything special. Appetizer was ok. Ravioli lacked flavor. Steak was perfectly cooked and was definitely the highlight. The plating/presentation isn’t that important, but once again for the price point, nothing exciting. Restaurant was also very loud and they skimped on the acoustics which doesn’t help the elegance/finer dining vibe they are going for. When we tried to first order our appetizer, we told our waitress that we will take some time between eating the app and ordering our entree, but the waitress informed us that the chef prefers that we order the appetizer and the entrees at the same time so it’s easier to keep them on the same ticket and make them close together….. thanks for letting us know the chef’s preferences ? very odd to me. Clearly they are trying to get people in and out quickly. Food came immediately after the app like they are trying to rush us out of there.Hopefully they can work some of the kinks out. Still new and has lots of potential!

What a fun vibe, great drinks, and dessert. We went here for my MIL's birthday and we all ordered different meals. I had the ravioli and found it to be a bit underwhelming for the cost, everyone else's food seemed to be tasty. I truly enjoyed the drinks and the desserts at the Avery. I would go again just for those things.

My two night stay at The Avery was fantastic. By far my favorite hotel in Boise with tons of great restaurants and coffee shops just a short walk away. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The AC/heat in the rooms works extremely well. You will find the bed appointed with fantastic linens and the softest towels are in the bathroom. The locally made soaps and lotions really tie the whole experience together. With a wonderful restaurant on the ground floor, the Avery is perfect for an easy night away.My only feedback, the poor valets have a good 7 minute walk to park and retrieve cars. Be sure to get your car requested 20 minutes or more before you need it.

A Captivating Blend of Old-World Charm and Modern Elegance! Our stay at this Boise gem left us enchanted. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a beautifully decorated interior that seamlessly merged old-world charm with contemporary sophistication. The level of detail throughout the hotel was simply immaculate - a testament to the care and thought put into every nook and cranny. It felt like stepping into a bygone era, where craftsmanship and aesthetics reigned supreme. Our room was a testament to the spotless standards maintained by the establishment. While our window didn't offer a picturesque view, it mattered little for a single night's stay when everything else was this exceptional.A highlight of our visit was dining at the hotel's restaurant. Every aspect was meticulously thought out, from the menu to the service. Culinary delights paired with an elegant ambiance made for an unforgettable dining experience. In sum, this establishment is a testament to the art of hospitality, where the fusion of history and modernity creates a unique and captivating experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something different and not basic. ??Noteworthy details: The local soap! The finest details that went into picking soap!

Best hotel we’ve stayed at in long time. The service was perfection and the location was great. The rooms were classy and thoughtful. Thanks for the great weekend!
