Love the front desk, they are super friendly and always willing to help. I had called about enrollment about sports and not only did Porter help me enroll them, but he also went above and beyond to make sure they were signed up as he had sent me links to complete and now my kiddos are ready to begin sports. Thank you for such a loving and caring staff. Meridian YMCA is awesome!!!?

I’m much closer to the west Boise ymca but I drive 15 extra minutes to this location. The kid zone is open all day, unlike west Boise. The classes are awesome! I recommend bootcamp with Kim Matthews. I also love the layout of the cardio and weight rooms. My daughter loves the play areas. The only thing this location lacks that west Boise doesn’t is a sauna and steam room.

This is gotta be the worst YMCA I’ve ever been to, staff here is really disrespectful. I would choose a different YMCA than this one. The lady with both large tattoo on both her legs by her ankles kids try to talk to her she looks at them and and ignores them on purpose, and adult had asked her a question and she’s said “I’m switching spots, ask someone else I’m to busy”. Tried talking to this lady many times for help to ask a question and I honestly don’t know how she got a job here at the YMCA where it’s supposed to be family friendly and I get it we are all humans we all have good days and bad but “treat people the way you want to be treated”!!!! The people today by the pool on duty were incredibly rude today besides one young lady she’s was super sweet. But the one lady with both large tattoos had major anger issues today.

Horrible experience. Staff were rude and unprofessional, do not state their swimming rules clearly at all, kept failing kids that were very well capable of swimming, bad service overall

They call it a family gym, yet you can't even bring your kids to train with you. I bought a family membership, only to be told that my ten year old son can't use the weight room with me, can't use the stair master with me, and can only use a couple machines in the cardio area and the mats. Why sake a family membership, if you know they can't use it to the fullest?? On top of that, the lady wasn't even polite when she came up and said, "Is he your son? Yeah, he needs to leave this area now." Extremely rude! She did it right in front of everyone in the gym, rather than pull us aside and talk to us. I'm pretty sure we are going to cancel the membership because it's worthless if I can't even take my kids to workout... on a family membership. Of course they'll tell you whatever to sale a membership and get you in the door, but it's also a non profit so they give two craps about retention. I worked in gyms for ten years and never saw this problem. These people are out of touch with their members. It's a sad day when the YMCA, can't even keep families happy and thrive in their gym environment. ITS THE YMCA, ITS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR FAMILIES!!

Hayley, the front desk gal is very friendly and a hardworker employee. I called with many questions and she took the time to figure out all my questions and also advised me with a better outcome. Meridian location is one of the cleanest YMCA I've attended too.

This place deserves a 5.0* how could it not? Incredibly easy to locate and access for starters. The facility is kept stunningly clean and stocked by the wonderful Lori and her team. No matter what time you show up anyone at the desk is chipper, intelligent, and eager to help you out. I was transferred to back staff to help me answer a few membership questions and was taken care of right away. I was blown away with how friendly people are here. It’s truly a community. There’s plenty of equipment to utilize and a crazy big pool area. The classes are crazy upbeat and are includdeeeddd!!!!! No more paying for classes that add up to hundreds of dollars!!!! We need more people like the ones you find coming here. Kindness is becoming rare and I think we need to re light that flame by thanking people like these! Hopefully with its growing popularity the branch will be able to expand and continue to prosper. Thanks yal for being wonderful!

WARNING: Graphic details are in this post that may not be suitable for every reader. This review is for the YMCA kids summer program 2023. My children attended that summer program. We were excited since we had only heard great things about it. We stayed up until 2am to sign up so we had a spot since it was known to be difficult to get into. The new cost was alarming and more expensive than the other local summer programs with private care centers. Since we trusted the feedback from years prior, we were hopeful the expense would be worth most of my paycheck.Unfortunately our experience with the program was unfortunate and extremely concerning.I would drop my children off and sometimes wait many minutes to be let in (even when workers saw me waiting at the door)The breakfast they offered wasn't ideal. It was a small section on a table in the far corner. They had a microwave and maybe some containers to keep food in? Many times my children would be hungry because my children would get distracted and immediately start playing. There seemed to be no emphasis on making sure the children were fed. Needless to say, I ended up making their breakfast beforehand since I couldn't rely on their breakfast. One day my husband was called to come pick up my youngest son because he wouldn't keep his hands to himself. (My son is highly sensory seeking 5 year old) He wasn't given the option to talk with him over the phone, he was informed we had to pick him up. This was a major deal because it isn't just that easy for my husband to leave his work. Unfortunately the staff that day wasn't prepared to handle situations like that. After speaking with a staff member that was there that day, she stated my husband shouldn't have been called and that the girl didn't seem to know how to address and redirect. Most concerning is the lack of ethics and morals regarding the choice of field trip locations. My 5 year old and 7 year old were taken to the Idaho State Penitentiary where I found out they learned about the "death trap" and the story where a boy shot his mother because she told him to do laundry. (they said they were told that story by a staff member) They also saw the number 666 and curse words written all over the walls. My youngest cried randomly for a week about how he didn't want to be taken to the death trap. My oldest asked for a bible because he wanted to know what 666 meant. They were really struggling emotionally after that field trip.My husband emailed them immediately after we found out what had happened, and the response was simply, it was scheduled for an educational experience. No one admitting wrong, or that it was extremely inappropriate, instead justified why that field trip was made. I have had personal conversations with teachers that heard about that field trip or were there and they said that it was absolutely inappropriate for children those ages and they couldn't believe they went. The next field trip was scheduled for Babby Farms where they have been investigated for injuries to children happening at the farm during field trips along with a warning from the Dept of Agriculture for bad conditions. My husband brought this to their attention and we decided to keep them home that day. These are just a few problems we experienced with the summer kids club. We tried to schedule a meeting with the coordinator Will, 2 times to go over these issues, and we were not followed up with.It was very clear to us that we could no longer trust our children to the care of the YMCA. We pulled them from before and after school care therefor I had to quit my full-time job so I would be the caregiver for my children during the summer months and school year. This put us in a serious financial bind, but we had no other option as there is little to minimal available childcare in the area with waitlists and unknown timelines. There were many wonderful workers that were so great with our kids, but sadly had their hands were tied. We really do appreciate those who did their best given the circ
