If you expect to get responses in a timely manner I would recommend going somewhere else. This was my first year working with JTC and have been disappointed with the service.

Highly recommend JTC CPAs. They have saved me thousands of dollars from tax liabilities and always have the answers ready or find the answers quickly. They like a challenge and actually enjoy working to solve more complex tax issues for businesses. Very professional and confident you will pleased.

Year 1 and 2 were fine but year 3 they must just be chasing new clients
Poor morals and obviously not very knowledgeable about tax code ESPECIALLY for businesses. DO NOT USE THEM

They tried to standard deduct my taxes for like $400 when you can click that button on turbo tax for like $30
I’ve been on the phone and emailing back and forth with these guys this year non stop to try to get them to do their job. Of course they charged for it as well and they even missed sending out forms this year on the deadline! What a joke of a business

UPDATED REVIEW: After more discussion, Jack Trent and the firm agreed to take financial responsibility for the errors that happened with my tax returns. This really improved my overall feeling with the firm and their ethics.
My original review had quite a lot of detail, but I'll summarize things now as many of my concerns have now been resolved.
A few oversights were made during the preparation of my 2022 personal and business tax returns and my S-Election for one of my entities.
I ended up owing some additional penalties and interest due to the oversights; however, the firm has now reimbursed me for these expenses. I have paid the taxes due, but have not had to personally pay the cost of the errors.
In addition, to compensate me for my time and stress related to these issues, the firm returned the fee for my 2022 tax preparation. I felt this was a fair resolution.
I do believe this is a good firm. If you are a new client--especially one with business returns, business partners, special tax situations like an S-Election requirement, I recommend being very careful and vigilant to ensure you are communicated with properly and in a timely manner.
I also recommend that you make sure you know if taxes are due or if there is a refund, and know that this firm will not set you up to pay your taxes electronically. You will need to send your own check or pay online.
I believe as a new customer with some moderately complicated situations, better communication here could have prevented my problems.
My feeling is that once you're an established customer, you will be taken care of.

I’ve been using JTC for the past 2 years and doing my taxes have been such a different experience. To start it off, it’s been easier and much smoother than before. I live out in Hawaii and it has been convenient despite the time difference. Kyle, Rhonda, and the team are always so responsive and helpful with all of my questions. I will refer all of my friends to them. Thank you JTC for making tax season a breeze for me.

We have been coming to Jack Trent for years now and have always been very happy with the service and professionalism of this company.
They know it’s personal!
Update:
My prior post was the truth but in 2 years things drastically changed, Jack has grown ( as a former business owner I think is great for him ) and the company no longer wants to do single family returns but focus on business accounting. The past few years their prices have increased but this year we experienced a 16.6% increase but our situation has remained very constant with little change, we bring in everything needed organized and ready for them. In the past Jack was always available and we could discuss any questions or concerns. We always met with Jack when reviewing our return but he was not available this year so we reviewed with Kyle which we had to understand, we also wanted to pay our bill but it wasn’t done. A few days later my bill was emailed to us, it was such an increase I left a message for Jack to discuss but my
Message was returned by Kyle, he explained that Jacks expansion has increased overhead and due to their growth this is the bill. Jack never did respond to us personally which spoke volumes! I wish him nothing but the best but we value a relationship and this one has run its course.

These guys have been so helpful! I’m a pretty clueless Tile Guy and they’ve done an incredible job walking me through running an S-Corp. Never had any tax issues or missing pieces and I’m so grateful for all their help.

JTC has been my go-to for a few years now and has always been excellent. This year, not so much. For the price you pay, you would expect good communication, but I found it difficult to get even a return call on most occasions. My return was also filed a WEEK after I had signed off on it, AND I had to be the one to call and see what was going on and why it hadn't been filed... Unfortunately, this is not the same firm that it used to be.

This year we began to work with Kyle and Terry for our business and personal taxes. These two (and the whole JTC team) have made our transition to an S-CORP a SEAMLESS process. We know a few things about taxes, but once more forms and taxes got thrown into the mix we knew that there was no way we could do them on our own anymore.
With the help of the JTC team, we have saved thousands of dollars on taxes, and so many hours of stress by not having to fill out any forms that we had no idea how to fill out. Thank you JTC for helping the financial side of things run smoothly for us so we can focus more on our business rather than taxes!

We stumbled upon JTC while googling for accountants in Idaho. We were so fed up with our previous experience. JTC has been amazing since day one. They are responsive, knowledgeable and patient. Taxes are hard, finding a good accountant can be even harder. I have worked with several accountants and feel lucky to finally have a team as amazing as JTC.
