Three strikes, you're out! First, the website says the planters are made out of "Brand New 3/4" Red western Cedar". NOT! They measure only 1/2", not 3/4". Quite a bit of difference. I'll forgive that this could be construed as false advertising (but let's see if the website gets corrected!). Second, my wife and I opted to take a nice drive and pick them up, instead of paying the $50 to have them delivered. We were told the delivery team was busy up until 1:00, and so we agreed to pick them up after 1:00. What we were not told, until we were well on our way (an hour+ long trip, one-way), was that 1:00 was actually the beginning of a 20-minute window where we could meet them in a roadside lot (ie. not their place of business - come by when we are open). Meeting that 20-minute window meant having to cancel several other things we intended to do along the trip. Third, the delivery team told me that tying the planters down in my pickup with mere rope (instead of ratchet straps) was flat out irresponsible, as the rope would loosen on the way home and we would lose the load, thus putting anyone driving behind me in severe danger. He'd been delivering planters for 10 years and assured me that my choice of rope was not a responsible decision. (He offered to sell us one of his straps - sans the ratchet - for $7. No thanks!!) Well, the rope did just fine. Do it right and it doesn't loosen a smidge! Oh, and BTW - I've been doing it that way for over 40 years. Haven't had a problem yet.
