They have severe problems with their processing of checks on payments. It comes back invalid several days later & you get an email. It is their problem & they tell you to contact your bank. The bank verifies its their problem & they have problem with their equipment processing the check for payments. The manager suggests calling their 800 number. Great having the customer doing all of the leg work for their problem that became my problem. Way to go to keep customers!

Shopping from Texas visiting family here and went in to get a pair of sunglasses. Webster M approached me right away and it didn’t even take 5 minutes before he found me a pair I really liked. Thank you!

Worst customer service ever! Looking to purchase a rifle and scope. Three people behind the counter shooting the breeze with one individual. Nobody would help us or even acknowledge we were there. Won’t be back.

I went in to the gun counter to buy my son his first hunting rifle for his birthday tomorrow. The first gentleman that was helping me was awesome, he was extremely helpful but then another guy took over and he was less than cordial. Most men try to be inconspicuous but he was flat out having a conversation with my chest the entire time. My husband had gone in earlier but the background check was going to take longer so I went in knowing I would be approved. They ran my ID and then after it was ok, he said he needed to talk to his manager to see if they could sell it to me. She walked over and said no they couldn’t because they still didn’t have an answer back on my husband’s background check. They then proceeded to void mine and my husband’s transactions before they even heard back on whether my husband was approved or not and stated they couldn’t sell the gun to either of us however if we had put money down on it, they could have. They never once asked either of us for a deposit down on it otherwise we would have paid in full with cash right then and there! As I walked away a little confused at what just happened, I heard the manager make a snide rude comment and start snickering with the man that was “helping” me. We will never be back to this store again! I have never felt that degraded and disrespected in one establishment!

This store has lost its soul. When it first opened, it was an outdoors store with lots of options for hunting, fishing, and camping. There were activities and events every weekend. After the buyout from Bass pro, it's slowly devolved into a clothing and junk store that also happens to sell guns and knives. There are still things to look at and buy, especially if you need a pair of shorts, a polo shirt, or some blankets for your bed, but this place has deviated far from what Cabela's used to be.

Better selection than nearby competitors. Their product line leans more toward hunting/fishing than other outdoor pursuits. If you're looking for hiking, climbing, skiing, or biking, try Idaho Mountain Trading.

I took 2 trips in looking at reels. The first guy talked only about the store credit card, and I left after wasting my time. The second visit, John, in the fishing department, helped me out a ton, answered all of my questions about the products, and helped me find exactly what I needed. Even though it was currently out of stock, he had it shipped to me with free expedited shipping.
Depends on the salesperson but a lot of them seem so worried about shoving the store credit card down your throat they forget the reason why you came in.
