Well maintained courts, balls in good condition, and just enough accoutrements to make the $55/hour seem not terrible. Scented cold towels are a nice touch

I really want to like this place. It has an outdoor pool which is fantastic. It has an outdoor hot tub which is fantastic. There is a lot of cardio equipment which is fantastic. With respect to free weights, here is my criticism. There are way too many heavy weights that no one ever uses, and there is an insufficient quantity of lower weights for people to use. 5-30 lbs. In addition, there is very little to no safe floor space to do your own free weight routine. The space is designed for you to use a machine or to use a bench but as we know many of us do tandem and hit style free weight workouts these days and you need some floor space to do so. This facility has not adapted to the times and the variety of use needed by its users. I also find the facility extremely old and tired. It needs some TLC and some lipstick. This property is managed by the Auberge, and they charge very steep fees for users and owners who live in Mauna Lani. But the fees are higher than the perceived value because it’s a tired facility. The Auberge did a fantastic job renovating their hotel, but they’ve forgotten about the fitness club. There’s insufficient Pickleball court time for Mauna Lani guests and owners to book time late in the day when it’s cooler and most people want to play, these times seem to be reserved for the Auberge Hotel guests.I think this place needs an upgrade and I think the rates need to be reduced. They have a lot of friendly staff, but the staff look like they’re bored to tears because there isn’t enough for them to do .This facility does not offer guests a day rate they only offer a two week, rate. Which seems very odd to me not everyone comes for two weeks and not everyone who for comes for two weeks is going to work out every day at this facility and spend $500. Have a day rate. Offer a 13 used punchcard that can be used within a calendar year. I think they need to be more creative with their offerings. More diverse pricing is needed. The management of this facility really needs to do some rethinking about the use of their space, the look of their space and what they are charging.

We just finished a month long vacation on the big Island that included a month family membership at the sport club. We had done the same thing last year and the sport club was one of the reasons we decided to stay in the same area. The staff are helpful, friendly and the club seems to run very smoothly. Some of the names of note : Tammy, Kristian, Neil, Aaron, and George - all amazing ! I particularly like the fact that they have a few peletons in the work out area.... and hoping this continues year to year. ( I noticed they went down in number from 6 bikes to 4 this year and a few of them might need a bit of maintenance). We also participated in the swim skills sessions with coach Dave and this program is top notch. It's great that some local people use the facility and the programs and it is nice that we can 'jump ' onto the program like swimming and feel as welcome as we did. Hoping the club continues to be awesome !! Thanks everyone. Sincerely Lyle and Tracey Schumacher

We wanted to play tennis while visiting Waikaloa, however the court available to us was usurped by pickleballers. We had visited the Mauna Lani tennis facilities on prior visits but hadn't played there, so we decided to book a court. The price was reasonable (about what we'd paid visiting other clubs in California), and we played longer than the time we had booked. They have a lot of demo rackets (Wilson, Yonex & Head) to play with as well, so don't worry about bringing your own racket. The staff is incredibly welcoming & made sure we had everything we needed for our game. The court rental included water as well as chilled towels, brought out in a cooler for us. Nice touch! The courts are recently surfaced, on the slower side but beautifully maintained. I look forward to playing again when we visit next spring!

My wife and I bought a couples pass for a week for ~$470. All the fitness equipment you need is available here except kettlebells and a 35 lb barbell which my wife wished they had. They have Peloton bikes, row machine, treadmills, and elliptical machines. The treadmills are a bit dated and there were a few machines out of order which is why I gave it 4 stars. Overall though a great place to workout especially if you have stayed at the Marriott and Hilton Waikoloa resorts and have seen their joke of a fitness center.
