A local and very cute market, you can find many typical culinary things, a gem because you feel like you belong to its culture, there is so much to choose from that you don't know but that makes you try, there are many local and foreign things and like I said quite native which makes it adorable, it seems like everyone is family and they are super nice

We went into this market at random on one of the first days of our trip and kept coming back. The poke was the best on the island because it's so fresh. And somehow it's also the cheapest? What? The only place (so far) that I could find fresh marlin poke. And the people are very nice. I don't know if it's a family running it but I wouldn't be surprised.I was honestly a bit sad on our last day in Maui when our friends decided to get brunch because....I secretly just wanted to go get poke from Takamiya again and eat it in the parking lot.

Staying at Banana Bungalow and I asked where's the nearest poke spot that's fresh, and truly underrated. They recommended Takamiya Market and I'm so glad I'm listened. Picked up their Salt Ahi Poke. It was so dang good. I'm definitely picking up another round before I leave.

Still a great little place even after 30 years I've visited, lots of good stuff and I think they were doing some special stuff due to the fires that displaced alot of us. Happy valley was packed with folks

After reading the reviews and seeing the prices, I couldn't believe it and had to see it for myself. Sure enough, their hot plates really do range from $3-7 which is absurd given the amount of food you get and the quality of it. This was a place I stopped at after hiking Waihee Ridge Trail and I got the chashu pork, fried fish plate, and smoked pork and all were delicious. Parking was not difficult and this is a quick stop and go place. I would highly recommend you come here before or after a day trip to wherever your plans take you as the food is hot and ready to go. I do wish I arrived earlier in the day to see their hot breakfast plates, but that just means I'll have to make my way out to maui again!
