We had the most pleasant experience in Malama Studio in Waikapu at Kumu Farms for Valentine’s Day! They feature the crafts of 30 plus local artist and the displays in the shop are so creative, awesome use of ‘old on Maui’ decor. We got some mini ipu ornaments for our made-in-Hawaii tree! The brightest hidden gem on Maui. Everything in this shop is beautiful and Isabelle, the owner, is also the sweetest human! She even shipped a one of a kind axis deer all the way to Alberta, Canada for us. We will be back every year. Thanks Isabelle!
Mālama Studio: A design + retail space that showcases select handmade products from local artisans that honor, and align with Maui’s history and tradition. This lovely venue supports over 25 local vendors. Their wish is to not only share the techniques of working with different materials, but to tell the stories behind them, both to Maui residents and visitors. Part of the proceeds support non profits that care for the ocean and the environment.
