“This place is truly a hidden gem. As the front gates open you see a beautiful pathway lined with palm trees and lush grass and a pretty pond. As you make you way up to the main building there's cool fountain with exclusive parking. The common area has plenty of activities from chess and other board games, books, movies and a computer if needed. The rooms are super spacious and really comfortable. In the back the beach awaits you where you see sea turtles everyday and can see one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island. All of this aside, this place will always have a place in my heart along with the keepers and owner. Unfortunately we were on Maui for the fires the decimated the west side. We were stranded with 5 kids and had no where to go and couldn't leave the island. Char, out of the kindness of her heart took us all in. I will never forget her act of kindness and the hospitality her and the staff showed us. It was there I got to experience the real spirit and love of Maui. I wanted to show my family Hawai'i and thanks to char we had a roof over our head and a place to sleep while experiencing the beautiful hidden gem. I high recommend coming here to relax and escape for some peace. I will definitely be returning in the future, without kids of course haha.Char if you read this, thank you with all our heart to you and your staff. MahaloAloha”

“Stayed at Sugar Beach Resort last month. I have stayed there 22 times. We stayed this time at unit 213. Very dated and needed sprucing up! Not enough seating! Have stayed in numerous condos there. Some are better than others of course. Pictures mean nothing as some are poorly stocked whereas others have many amenities! Luck of the draw. Sugar Beach is very private as very few people on the 6 mile stretch of sand. The resort has a nice pool and hot tub. Just steps from the pool to the beach. There’s a place to eat there on the grounds called the Sand Witch. Good sandwiches!! Overall great place to stay.”

“10/10 recommend and would absolutely visit again! I was in desperate need of a private space for an evening meeting (co working spaces would be closed and cafes were too noisy) and Nona Lani Cottages absolutely saved me. From the moment they answered the phone to when I left the cottage, the staff was absolutely wonderful (shoutout to Aisha) and so helpful. They put together a package for me to use the space just for a few hours and it was exactly what I needed. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and easy to access. Whether it’s for a few hours of quiet, comfortable work or a multi-day stay, I would 100% visit again.”

“This has been my best hotel choice so far and I really loved being here. It was a last minute booking for one night stay. The room is extremely spacious and clean. The idea of complementary bottles stood out for me. They give free take home sipper bottles to refill with water from the machines , a wonderful idea to reduce plastic waste on the island. They also have a courtesy room with a living room and a full restroom for guests who have checked out for the day but still need a place to freshen up before heading out. The free shuttle service to the airport is a definite add on. This hotel surpassed customer service expectations for me.”

“We visited the 1st week of December and loved this hotel! You are walking distance from so many good eats and the beach access is super convenient. This was a work trip, so if you care their internet speed is solid for both downloads & uploads.A special shoutout to Kathrine who was an excellent host. She was very patient with our questions and always made sure we were taken care of!”

“This was an excellent hotel. Although, I lived in big chain hotels always, this was Cozy and convenient! The room was right across the beach and the parking lot was just two steps away from my room. I will certainly come back to this property during my next trip to Maui.”

“This place was definitely false advertising. The rooms look nothing like what they do in the pictures on line. We paid for an ocean front room and didn’t get ocean front. The key card didn’t work at the door to get us to the hallway our room was in. The smell was horrible. As soon as we opened the door to our room it definitely smelled like someone was just in there smoking. The A/C in the room was off. When we turned it on it spit water at me. We left to go shopping, came back, opened the door to our on and it smell like pot badly! The room was so small. Even though it looked clean, it didn’t feel clean. Normally I am okay with taking my shoes off walking around in some socks and I definitely did not there. This room was right about $400 a night. I expected more for that price. So save your money and go somewhere else.”
