We had our daughter’s wedding on July 16, 2021 at Olowalu Plantation House and had Food For The Soul as our caterer. The food was amazing and our guest continued to tell us how wonderful it was for days after the wedding. The staff was so friendly and helpful, I feel they all went above and beyond. I highly recommend using them.

Tina, Rob, and the Food for the Soul team are amazing!! At the start of our engagement, my fiancé said that one of the most important parts of a wedding is the food. He isn’t wrong, so I put him in charge of finding the caterer. We planned our wedding from Sydney, Australia; so tastings weren’t an option for us. However, this company speaks for itself. It’s truly Food for the Soul. My fiancé did his research, read all the reviews, and knew that FFTS were our people. The cherry on top? Tina Digman. Tina not only runs and coordinates the catering side of FFTS, she also plans & coordinates weddings & events. My fiancé and I had all these visions, dreams, and questions bouncing around in our heads. After our first call with Tina, happy tears were shed (mainly by the bride). Tina instantly put us at ease, answered all our questions, and we knew she was the planner for us. Our planning journey was smooth sailings. Tina kept us on track, provided info and reviews of all vendors, and helped us think outside the typical wedding box. They say your wedding day happens in a flash, and it did, but it went off without a hitch with Tina & team by our side. What about the food? Oh yeah. THE. FOOD. WAS. KILLER! Chef Rob and team dish out some awesome food. We went with the Pacific Rim Buffet option, served family style, and boy it didn’t disappoint. The flavors of all dishes were divine, people with all taste buds were satisfied. From the wasabi mash to the sesame pork loin with hoisin sauce, out of this world! We loved hearing all our guest compliment the food. During our wedding, after our wedding and we know for years to come. We’re so thankful for all the Food for the Soul team members. Beyond thankful for Tina and Rob. We’ll sing their praises forever. So what are you waiting for?! Stop looking! Food for the Soul is who you want!

So I waited a bit before posting this review because I wanted to make sure it was not a hasty reaction to being overwhelmed by wedding planning. Michelle and her team at Aloha Events catered our wedding in Maui in April 2016. First off the food was delicious, absolutely fantastic. Everyone raved about it. I never met Michele, the day of our wedding we had a team captain taking the lead on the dinner service. Few glitches, first, the kid meals were forgotten. When one of our guests asked about it, the server told our guest that kid meals had not been ordered. Upon emailing Michele the day after our wedding about the missing kid meals, she said, "I spoke with Chef about kids and on the order she had made the standard menu items for them and not special kids meals". Ok but not really what I wanted for the kids right? Thus my ordering the kid meals. Not an apology or anything, just basically we decided not to give you what you ordered. Second, the bartender served alcohol to our under age guests, teenagers that were obviously underage. Yes, I'm sure. Third, ok I cannot be totally positive about this but I'm 99% sure that the lilikoi lemonade & water (for our non-alcohol drinking guests) was never refilled, I'm basing this on the fact that every time I went over to the bar to grab a lemonade or water the jugs were empty. On the up side, Michele was very responsive and the staff at the wedding courteous. Overall, service was just kinda ok but the food was great, like so good!

Loved having Aloha Catering at our event this month in Maui. We got great feedback from our guests who enjoyed all of the food! We ended up going with a mini chicken and waffles along with fried goat cheese, i cant even tell you how amazing that goat cheese was! The catering staff was amazing too! so professional with both myself and husband along with all of our guests, i couldn't have asked for better service. loved the cheese bread!

Went to a wedding and it was catered by Aloha Events Catering. They set up in the bridal suite of Sugarman Estate and did all the cooking on site. They made the suite smell like food and grease. All our garment bags smelled after the event. The appetizers came out and was barely enough to feed the crowd. I think I saw maybe 6-8 platters total for 70-80ish guests. They served potstickers.. Which were ok. They had fish sauce to dip them in, which didn't work well because it wouldn't soak into the shell of the potsticker. I mean as an hors d'oeuvre I think you should consider things dripping on people while they dip and walk and the flavors soaking into the actual appetizer. The coconut shrimp I never even saw. The ahi tuna was a little bland. I thought it needed more tuna on the cracker. Only 1-2 people served the appetizers and I felt it was lacking for the amount of guests. Maybe they should consider placing the hors d'oeuvre on a table and then serving some of the platters so that people know where to find them and we know all the food that is being served. I felt like the bride and the groom paid for unlimited amounts but didn't see what was actually passed out. I don't think they even saved any of the small bites for the bride and the groom. As for the food for the actual wedding.. The salad, bread, and Mac salad are as you expect. The Mahi Mahi with the salsa was a little dry. The pork was juicy and moist and probably the best dish of the night. The fried rice was also good. I felt like when we were going through the line they were being pretty skimpy with portion size. It's a buffet style.. Might've been better to allow the guests to serve themselves. Anyway, there was a lot of food left.. And some people had to flag them down for seconds because they were putting away the trays full of food without announcing it was ok for seconds and not giving guests a warning for last call.. Where did all the prepared food go?! Especially if it was suppose to be all you can eat buffet?! I felt like this company really tries to skimp you on things.. Items already paid should be set out for guests to enjoy. Especially all the cooked food. Why did guests have to flag you down because you were already cleaning up before serving anyone seconds? They said because of Maui law, they can't pack food to go.. What a weird rule. So apparently all the food was trashed afterwards.. Or taken home by the catering company themselves. I guess we'll never know. They never responded to the bride and grooms inquiries. They just got the business, did a shady job and then disappeared. How convenient. I didn't even pay for any of this and I'm pissed for the people who did. I was at the event as a guest and can say.. Appetizers were sparse... Make sure they tell you how many platters you'll get of each appetizer and then make sure they come out! Also make sure they announce to guests when they'll take away food before they pack and "throw" things away. Make sure you get what you paid for.. Have a family member make sure of it when you're busy with your big day.

Attended a wedding in Lahaina. The food was catered by Aloha. The food was amazing. I am very particular about food and what was served definitely deserves 5+ stars. Michelle's staff were very friendly and professional. For those that don't get the opportunity to visit Hawaii, the staff provided insight to the Hawaiian culture and history of the islands. Truly an amazing event topped off by the cuisine. Thanks

Best decision we made for my daughter's wedding. Michelle and her staff took care of everything from the smallest detail to the food which Chef Belia out did herself from the Raw bar to the bacon wrapped mushrooms to the New York steaks and finished with a amazing desert bar. Michelle even help pic the right venue for our party . The Olowalu Plantation House was the perfect spot and with whales in the background as the vows where said was the icing on the cake. Thank you Aloha Event Catering

Where do I begin with this review, first off Michelle is a GEM...she was like a best friend always there for you. My fiancée and I had a rough time with a few vendors and Michelle was able to clean it all up and we are SO thankful things worked out the way they did because this day was PERFECT with her in it! She did not miss a beat and she was always there if we needed her, I miss her already! The food was raved about for days, we chose the Filet and sweet onion mashed potatoes and the fresh macadamia nut encrusted fish with the yummy purple mashed potatoes with wok fired vegetables! SO good!! They even made little mini French macaroon's to go along with our cake!! Everything was perfect! At the end of the evening Michelle cleaned everything up for us so we didn't even have to think about it, she took care of all our vendors and even had a back up plan for the unexpected rain...I could go on for days about how amazing Michelle and the whole staff at Aloha Events is. For someone planning a wedding near or far choose Aloha Events, their food is AMAZING and is not your typical "wedding" food, the staff is top notch and the professionalism throughout the whole process was above and beyond!! Thank you Michelle and everyone at Aloha Events for making our day so stress-free and seamless...and YUMMY!!! xoxo J&J

We used Aloha events for our wedding and I'm so glad we did. Michelle was so sweet and communicated well. All our choices were made based on pictures and the website, and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. The food was awesome, all our guests said it was some of the best food they'd ever had. The bartender/servers were so sweet, accommodating, and efficient. Michelle was flexible and made some last minute changes as our guest count changed. If you are having a destination wedding on Maui and are worried about the catering, use Aloha Events and put your mind at ease- they take care of everything so you can enjoy your event.
