I usually stay in Waikiki on my grand vacation, but this was my first time on Hawaii Island and I stayed here.
If you were to say that it can't be helped because it's the Big Island of Hawaii, which has a lot of nature, it might be true, but G appeared in the room every day after 3 nights and 4 days. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't see G. And it's a decent size. Bugs other than G will also appear in the room.
It was really bad because I hate insects.
When I opened the dishwasher to use it, the inside was full of mold. It's not very useful.
I think it is better not to stay if you are afraid of insects.
You can usually hear the footsteps of people upstairs, the sound of doors opening and closing, and the sound of water running.
I think the location is good as it is about 30 minutes by rental car from Kona Airport.
I don't think I'll stay there again.

Needs a little deep cleaning to maintain it's status. A few places have what appears to be past coffee stains on the carpet & tops of living room couches. Also the dishwasher seems like it's about 10 - 15 years old and isn't screwed in tightly (wobbles all around loosely). Otherwise the place is very comfortable & accomadating. Plenty of towels, coffee & very responsive to each time we had a need to call them up.
Rooms: Rooms were large and accommodating & mostly comfortable. Mattresses might need to be turned.
Nearby activities: A couple of beaches fairly close by, otherwise you will travel 20 - 30 minutes + into Kona or Waimea for a decent selection of grocery stores, restaurants & other activities.
Safety: You feel pretty safe within the whole Waikoloa complex however @ the Bay Club, there are some areas where it is really dark from where you park the car up to the building. I used my phone flash light regularly at night so as not to trip on anything! It is a short walk but nonetheless less dark/unlit.
Walkability: There is a shuttle within Waikoloa to take you to high end shopping & restaurants if you don't mind paying only high end prices for EVERYTHING!! Example; A half gallon of Roselani Kona Mud Pie Ice cream (the BEST, I might add) was about $19.00 @ the Island Gourmet grocery store within Waikoloa, but I payed $11.00 for it at the KTA store in Waikoloa Village (a small town about12 - 15 min. away!!

Staff was amazing and friendly, we did find some roaches in the room but they sprayed and they were gone after. Close to the shops but about 1/2 an hour away from any kind of excursions. Beautiful scenery around.

So luxurious. Everything was perfect except for the kitchen. Only one small skillet. No baking sheets or saucepan. The oven was dirty, so it smoked when we tried to use it. Such dull knives that I couldn't cut a pickle.

Great resort and a great location. If you're into pools, stay at Kings Land. If you only plan on sleeping there, fixing breakfast, golfing, but plan on doing lots of sightseeing this is the perfect spot.

Very spacious one bedroom. Bathroom is unfortunately not cleaned properly, the tub/shower mad me cringe. I asked for a re-cleaning and was ignored.
I was disappointed overall as I always wanted to stay at the Bay Club. Be careful what you ask for.
Rooms: Nice spacious living room

Wonderful location for a family style vacation! Quieter vibe and less focused on night-life/bar scene but still have many activities and events to attend!
Rooms: Rooms are beautiful and spacious. You are able to hear your upstairs neighbors fairly easily walking around - if you have them)
Walkability: There are shuttle pick ups at each pool location or simply walking and getting steps in easily. Everything is within walking distance at the resort and you board a shuttle for shops or rent a car.
