No longer Cox's auto, Doyle Cox passed away and his wife Sachi Cox retired from the business. Now John Penny runs the lot under MASH Cars.

This dealer also hides under the name of "MASH", so beware! Do not purchase a car from here. This dealer is USAA certified, but apparently that means nothing (working with USAA now to get them uncertified). The same day we bought our Jeep from them, it broke down and wouldn't start. They took it back for a few days and gave me a loaner while they tried to repair it. I got it back but the same problem continued to occur, it wouldn't start. I was out running errands in Honolulu once I got the car back and it wouldn't start anymore, it took a random mechanic from FedEx just 2 minutes to correctly diagnose the problem with my Jeep, he informed me to get a new starter. Somehow, this analysis escaped Mash's solution, even though they had a week to repair and analyze it. Mash replaced the starter at no cost to me once I went back to them and told them about the problem. One week later, while driving around, my Jeep would randomly shut off, forcing me to put the car in neutral in the middle of street and restart it. This continues to happen about once every other day. When I brought this to the attention of Mash, they took the car for a week and said they would fix it. When I went back to pick it up, I asked John what they did to "fix" it, and he was very vague about what they actually did to my car. I realized now that he was so vague because they did nothing of substance to fix the underlying issue of my car randomly quitting while being driven. They fixed the left blinker, made the A/C work a little better, and then pretended to fix the stuff that caused my engine to die. I'm not sure if this place is incompetent, or corrupt, but either way, do not buy a car from them. I've owned my Jeep for a couple months now and have already spent hundreds of dollars on rentals while Mash acted like they were repairing my car. If you do want a car from here, get it inspected by a mechanic you trust. A carfax and being USAA certified is not enough to stop this place from selling you a lemon. If you have had issues with this dealer as well, call USAA and inform them, and call the better business bureau of Hawaii.
