The older lady that works the counter is the meanest old hag I've ever had the displeasure of talking to. Tells you constantly your package isn't there and then magically finds it after 3 rounds of sass and additude, acts like you're wasting her precious time making her do her job. At times I would rather surrender my package for return than have to talk to her and see if she's willing to do her job and grab the damn thing for me.

**Honest review**
In and out in less than 5 minutes. Pleasant and professional staff.
It was about 2:30p.m. and it’s Thursday; they were not crazy busy but did have a decent flow of people coming in. Plenty of parking *in back for those who are not familiar with this location*

Great service, great employees. The only thing I have a problem with is the black mold and leaky roof that is right next to the air conditioner, so it is constantly blowing mold on the workers and people waiting in line.
Black mold exposure can be very bad for the public, and the people that work there every day. Who ever is responsible for this aspect of the building maintenance should really contact the appropriate government agency to release the funds to fix the problem before people get sick from this.

This is one of the worst Post Offices in the U.S. The Post Office is under staffed to the point of having a constant line of customers flowing around the building during most operating hours. And the hours are ridiculous: Three hours on Saturdays, and six hours on weekdays. Can you imagine where FedEx or UPS would be if they treated their customers with such disrespect?

Sensitive package came to this post office on March 7 ,but no paper was left in mail box. When we tried to contact to Post office on March 15th they said it's not here yet and few days later they sent back to original address. Just question what service is that?

Edit 3: I have seen gradual improvements at the post office in Pahoa. More staff, 1pm on time pick ups, proper end destination tracking updates. Hopefully we can see drastic improvements for a new location or expanded parking and box availability. I think this would alleviate pressure on workers and boost community support for our postal system. Could you imagine our only options as UPS/Fedex? A letter 2 day from the mainland to Hawaii is $85.00!

The postal pickup lines are always full and the wait is long.The long line goes quickly if two postal workers are attending customers.

Wonderful post office. Clean and organized. Has a rustic feel which makes it feel like a traditional village vibe. Can be quite busy so bring patience and love to the workers here as they are doing their best! Mahalo ?

As I was leaving the post office today the employees were working diligently there were 3 women standing in line outside the door one asked is there only one person working I said no there is 3 and the line is moving quickly one of them commented when I was out of site compared to what they all laughed at her comment I backed tracked and snapped back at them and replied compared to getting on a plane and delivering it yourself her friends laughed even louder lighten up folks we all walk this journey together and to the USPS thankyou Merry Christmas

1 year later. Things have improved with the lines. Misplacing held packages seem to be a lost cause on Maxine. Everyone else, 5 stars!Wish I could give a better review but I can't. Long lines, misplacing held packages and zero improvements. I feel for the ladies working.
