Not a true Co-Op share branching! You must established an account with them to access your local credit union funds

Mililani branch has the best customer service! Teller #336 greeted me with smiling eyes and friendly hello. What I like best about this branch is while standing in line, on the big screen tv, they have a show called Bites on a Budget. The recipes are easy and the food looks good! I wish they had fliers available that show the recipe. :p

Let me start off by saying that initially, things were fine when I went to the Mililani branch of HSFCU. The line was short, it moved quickly, and the teller was friendly (I didn't catch her name). This is where it went south. I deposited a check and then asked to do a shared branching transaction which would've saved time. I have my account info to the teller; she said, "Hmmm, it's not working". Ok. She kept trying and I told her try it with a "0" at the end. She tried again and said, "No, it's not working - sorry!" She gave my ID back and I said, "So you can't do it? I'll have to go to the other FCU?" Yup, she said. Never asked for any help from anyone else, just a sorry - bye! Went to the PFCU and did my business there, but before leaving, asked about why HSFCU wasn't able to help. The teller was surprised and said replace the "4" with a "0". I, the customer, knew this - but the HSFCU teller didn't? I've done the shared banking at the Pearlridge branch with no problem. I've done the shared banking at the Kapolei branch with no problem. The tellers there have asked for help if needed and resolved the issue. Why couldn't the Mililani teller ask for help instead of just telling me sorry, can't help you. Why offer shared banking services if the service can't be delivered? Had I known the Mililani branch was gonna be this lame, I would've gone straight to the PFCU and done all my banking there instead. Think I'll do that from now on.

My experience at Hawaii State Fedral Credit Union is always amazing! They have always given great customer service. I had went to the Miliani branch to deposit a check. I had decided that while I was there to let them know of my travel plans and withdraw some money. The teller was great. She took care of my needs and made sure there was a note in my file that I was traveling. I will keep coming back!

My mom had an account at the Mililani Mauka branch and she passed away. Being her only child I have to take care of her funeral plans and all paper work in which is never easy ( first time having to do these things). I went into the branch and spoke with Lorine Akiyoshi she was very rude and unprofessional. I sat in her office explaining that my mom passed away and needed direction on the next steps I needed to accomplish. I did not need her to be caring (which she wasn't), but I was hoping to have a professional and Aloha filled conversation. Lorine Akiyoshi was not only not caring or sympathetic but was rude and had a non- approachable demeanor. This isn't what families need dealing with a death in the family. My second meeting with Ms Akiyoshi was even worse! I brought my moms death certificate and her attitude was very unprofessional and rude. I thought she was the branch manager but her business card says she is Vice President and Senior Branch Manager! I was taken back to find out her title because this isn't how Leaders should behave! How can she lead others when she treats customers like this? I had to write this review because I don't want anyone else that has a family member pass away treated like this. I will also be calling the Regional manager. I have closed my account at this bank. Thank you for allowing this review

I went to get a document notarized and did not know you needed to make an appointment. No one was in the bank only employees. The lady to the left of the front door said she could make an appointment for me. I was already in the bank and could not understand why she could not help me since no one was there. I felt like she did not care. No customer service skills. Makes no sense to come back when I was already there. Not good customer service. Its like the Army says to put your tent there but it's pouring water. Do you follow the manual or think out of the box? Spoke with a manger and there was no resolution.

I've been banking here since 2005 & Amber Kaulia the branch operation Mgr is the very best! Awesome customer service! She always is so friendly and makes banking there so easy. Have other banks but I love doing business here because of her, she is very knowledgeable and always addresses my concerns with such professionalism!

My husband and I were searching for another institution to make our primary bank/credit union. Being that this branch is right down the road from our house, we thought it was convenient. We scheduled an appointment to talk with a loan officer on Jan 12th (Tuesday). Upon entry, there was a nice employee that greeted us asking what we were in for. She was attentive and very welcoming. Coming from someone who works in customer service, it was nice to see a smiling face! Very much appreciated. We told her that we had an appointment with someone and was told to wait a few minutes, so we waited. Once we were called, we sat with a loan officer and briefly told her our situation and what we were hoping to accomplish, but her demeanor from start to finish wasn't very pleasant. Seemed like we were just another "customer". My husband and I asked for advice on what to do to move forward, which she was able to tell us, but it didn't seem genuine. From the expressions she was giving us, it seemed like we were asking d*** questions...Feeling discouraged, we eventually said our thank you's and left. I don't think we'll be back. We'll continue to be on our search for another primary institution.

Coinstar is currently by appointment only to avoid a crowd of people inside. Of course you wouldn't know because there is no sign that says so.. In order to make an appt, you must check with the tellers. Luckily, I walked in and nobody was there so I asked if I could go dump my coins.. No tax is taken out if you already have an account with HSFCU. Coins processing is loud and annoying but it has to be done. You can also get free coin wraps from the teller or buy at Wal-Mart but Coinstar is less of a hassle and not time consuming. Once you've got the receipt, go to counter and redeem. If you have another bank FCU account, you can deposit money from your HSFCU into your other FCU account as long as your name matches and you have the last 4 digits of the account.

This is for the Mauka branch. Stacie is AMAZING!! She not only helped us with an issue we had that day, but also helped clear up a prior issue we had. So grateful she was the one who assisted us that day! She's very personable, efficient, & professional, smiling the whole time! Exceptional customer service, very rare nowadays. Two thumbs up!!!

I don't recommend this credit union anymore. I am planning to move to another credit union. They have a poor credit card approval process and poor customer service. Not recommended
