I was told I couldn't make a wire transfer unless I'm there in person. I'm currently trying to buy a house and BOH is making the process very difficult from a distance. If you ever leave Hawaii or work outside the state often, I'd recommend closing your account.

Being with Bank of Hawaii since 1972, the service and customer service has been excellent. I deal with several major banks in Hawaii. Bankoh has been the best, workers and managers are train very well. Ok, for the Mililani branch with 1-star from Yelp. These people must work for other banks....I don't sugar cost any of my reviews. Excellent customer service here, want to thank Kaloha for helping me this year with all my accounts and safety box this year. She should get promoted to a manager position. Aloha, Derek

Not all employees are friendly. I miss the location in Mililani Safeway...it was a lot more CONVENIENT then the new location. Please reconsider and reopen the Mililani Safeway branch.

I can honestly say that Bank of Hawai'i is all about customers service. You just have to be patient with them because everybody thinks they can do it on their own personal time, but they have make time for other people too. Like give chance for goodness sake. Bank of Hawai'i have been helpful since I started with them, and it is me that has to make sure that I keep in track with my money and time, no them. So I don't know why person say bad thing about them. I say I prefer Bank of Hawai'i and there no better banks I can think of that could do better than them.

Not worth a star. The rude teller, Iris, was not helpful in a timely manner. I recommend that you request another teller, or more so, consider another bank altogether to avoid the rude 'customer service'. Absolute terrible experience and will definitely not work with this bank.

My rating would've been NO stars, but Yelp requires to atleast pick 1 to post reviews. I've been in the Customer Service world for over 15 years, and not once have I ever told ANY customer, "...we're backed up but you can open up a new account online or make an appt. to speak with someone." Okay, so maybe your branch is short staffed, but since when did employees turn away customers? SHAME ON YOU, Bank of Hawaii Mililani branch!! Instead of sending him away, you should've asked him to wait for a moment 'til someone would be able to help him. My son stood in line, took the time to go to YOUR bank and expected "awesome" Customer Service but received the total opposite. I'm going to encourage my child to take his FIRST crappy banking experience as a BLESSING in disguise, and to do his banking where his business will be appreciated. I hope this location takes this review as a learning opportunity, as my son has.

No customer service when calling for banking on hold for 2-3 hours. Transferred and on hold again. Expect bad connections and lost calls frequently. Also terrible service when attempting to get access to your funds. A small town bank with little support for big business and international or national needs.

I hope you don't ever have to speak to a live representative. If you do, you'll be cast down into the netherworld of "Customer Service" and end up spending your day on hold. I've been banking with them since my teens, and have finally realized they are horrible (only took me 25 years to figure that one out) The online app you're encouraged to use can't even arrange payment to a BOH credit card (really). This is just a taste of what your working with folks.

3-22-2021 The new BOH branch in the Town Center is officially open for business. Arrived right after 8 a.m. and there was a welcoming team to greet customers.Hand sanitizer and self temperature monitor of your face is available inside the entrance. I had a manual screening on my wrist.Employees adorned with orchid leis and face masks were beaming smiles and excitement filled the air. The branch is gorgeous and feels airy, not institutional.I came specifically to get a SD box. Was told I got the last large box. Phew! So glad and relieved. They do have smaller sizes available. Different procedure for accessing your box once fully operational. Not gonna tell how it works to maintain security but it's very high tech almost like those futuristic shows. For now, an employee will help you manually gain entrance. There is a lounge with 2 chairs for you to wait.Waiting a bit to get my key and contract to rent my box. Was given a tote bag for waiting patiently, so generous...a surprised and happy me!I was assigned to Sheila, very friendly, cordial who showed me where my box is located, gave me my keys and set up the contract. The manager pulled the shades down in the office so sunlight wouldn't get into my eyes, so thoughtful. Came across many very friendly employees during my visit.A very momentous and happy day for their grand opening. Good luck BOH in your new home.
