Gold member.
Was ignoring/not knowledge when waiting at the gold membership desk. Multiple employees walked by and did not assist. Waiting in line and getting the actual car took over an hour. Multiple people behind us got their cars before we did.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! Rented a mini van for a fun family vacation. While returning vehicle back to lot, a very unprofessional employee was pulling up another vehicle right next to me. He swung open the car door, hitting side view mirror of my rental car. He was cussing, screaming, even smacked my father in the head while being upset that location was understaffed (Not our issue). Hertz still made me pay for the damage to the vehicle despite my car being parked at this time and after the manager apologizing that the staff member behaved in this manor. They will do anything for some extra $$$$$.

Initial car we received was filthy. The second car they issued was not better by much, but we went with it. Only to find out the passenger window button was broken after we drove off the lot. I spent 45 min trying to get a hold of the office with no answer. Had to call the road side assistance to have the discrepancy documented.
When returning the car, I filled the gas tank and still got charge $60+ due to a none full gas tank. Of course I couldn’t get ahold of anybody on the phone so had to submit a fuel charge discrepancy online with photos of my credit card charge for gas and the odometer/dashboard showing a full gas tank. To make it worse, the customer rep replied saying the staff deemed the gas tank was not full at return so I will still be charged. Insane!
I’m still disputing the gas charge. Such a waste of my time that I even have to do this.

We just made a reservation, we have a problem because we had to try several cards for it to work. It worked but we had the unpleasant surprise of having been charged on a card even though the Hertz site told us that it did not work (so no validation of reservation with this card). Impossible to get them by phone, we tried to send an email in response to the reservation but no response yet.... is it a scam? We hope that the payment will be canceled on their side because the bank can't do anything it seems.

very poorly managed hertz property, even I generally love renting from Hertz, but I would rent from another company next time at LIH.
Several issues I encountered:
- No Ultimate Choice zone.
- Many dirty vehicles, I had to exchange vehicles several times to find a clean up upon pick up
- Does not honor Hertz membership, I'm President Circle, and they don't offer free one-level upgrade.

Update: Apparently roaches in vehicles are common place depending on where you are on the island. We did however exchange the vehicle. As I can deal with one maybe two, but not the amount we saw. The manager was very responsive to our concerns and did let us know that they do have the vehicles treated and she took our concern very serious.
DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ LIHUE AIRPORT!!! I picked up my vehicle on Monday, and outside from damage the car came with (which was sketch) the car drives great. Today (Wednesday) ROACHES have started appearing in the car from underneath the passenger seat!!! ? I have never been so disgusted! I tried calling the place where I picked up the car but no one picked up the phone. But don’t worry I will be reaching out to corporate. That is beyond disgusting. Especially since they are holding $1300 of mine hostage for this rental and they apparently don’t know how to clean the car that no one found the roaches?! And it’s not just one or two it’s roaches in all life stages ??

This has been the easiest car rental experience of my life (both here and at Hertz Maui). Got the car within 15 mins, drop off took literally 2 minutes. Yeah the cars are scuffed up a bit, but who cares - you’re on Kauai, presumably driving the thing into Waimea Canyon and whatnot, of course they’ll get scratches. And reversely no one bat an eye about any small scratches you might have added in return - none of the tedious stalking around the vehicle to inspect the smallest dent. We were super content with the cars and service in both locations.

Hertz used to be one of the best car rental companies. This time they gave me a car which apparently involved in a serious accident. They even didn’t show the curtesy to clean it up. Some of the original broken parts were left inside the car. Dear mechanic if you are looking for your tape measure; it is under the driver seat.
I won’t be surprised if Hertz gives me a car from junkyard next time.

Unfortunately very bad. After checking in, you wait at least 30 minutes for your vehicle in the blazing sun. No other rental car company anywhere in the world has had this experience. Next time definitely not at Hertz… unfortunately…
The comment that you forward this to the local management is probably just the standard sentence. Well, thank God there are enough other rental car companies. So only the final sentence remains once Hertz and never again!
