Won't serve all residents on Kauai. I called Kaua'i Foreign Cars to make an appointment for an estimate on a collision repair covered by an out-of-state insurance company: Shelter Insurance (I was hit by a tourist). The man was rude and curtly said he'd "never heard of that insurance and since it was an off brand company they wouldn't deal with them." He refused my business, even though I had an insurance claim number, Shelter Ins. had accepted liability, and has been in operation since 1946 with service in 15 midwest states. As getting in an accident with a tourist that will have an out-of-state insurance company is not uncommon on this island, Kaua'i Foreign Cars' discourteous and dismissive refusal to do business with me was disheartening to receive from a long-time local business.

Excellent experience from initial encounter to picking up my truck. I filed a claim through the insurance company and selected Kauai Foreign Cars to do the repair. When I called, the shop had all my information. The front desk staff evaluated the damage, told my the process, and gave me the timeframe for the repair, and everything was as explained. Excellent repair job. They handled all the insurance paperwork. No hassles or worries. Peace of mind. I highly recommend.
