The prices at the store are absolutely ridiculous. $11 for a bag of chips? You're just taking advantage of people. It's manipulative and honestly disgusting. Whoever owns this place should try to be a better person.

Came to try their poke. Bonus that it’s out earlier in the morning then Napili market. But you get 2/3 as much poke for $3 more here. So, I’ll be sticking to Napili from now on.

They clearly hate white people and/or tourists. I’ve never been treated so poorly by multiple employees/owners who work in a single store. We have smiled, said please and thank you, we are extremely eco-friendly, respect the locals, respect the island, and we made extra efforts to show how appreciative we are to be here. They grimace and ignore your ‘thank you’ or ‘have a good day” niceties. The other reviewers are correct. FYI-If you go around the corner though, there are some shops and a coffee place, and they are so friendly and sweet!

Everything is more expensive in Maui so a general store is extra expensive. This is right under a gym and attached to a gas station. It has a variety of fresh, pre-made and packaged goods. I tried some Bragg gut juice and picked up a bag of shrimp chips. You can also get beer and wine here, as well as some souvenirs. Friendly service and conveniently located off the main road. Review #21 of 100 in 2023.

IMHOAt first glance, you might think you're entering an ABC Store, but as you walk around, you'll see Whalers General Store has its own personality and vibe. I was searching for a locally Maui-made skincare product, and I had been told to look for it at Whalers General Store. Sure enough, I found them immediately since they were centrally merchandised in the store. You can find almost any of your travel needs, be it souvenirs, or food snacks, sunscreen, beach items, etc. here at Whalers, and sometimes you'll find them at a lower price! When I'm considering an item from an ABC Store, I then go to Whalers to do a price comparison. Hey, in Maui, I try to save money anyway I can! Many times (not always) I can find a better deal at Whalers! LOLStep into Whalers, you'll like it!

My family really needed water so we headed to the nearest Whalers, about 2 minutes from our place. As soon as we walked up, they locked the door. Closes at 9 not 8:50, just thought it was rude, she saw us walking up and turned the lights off, again prior to 9. I guess whatever I'm sure they worked hard just seemed kinda crappy.

pumped gas there yesterday and pumped air out of nozzle. paid for nothing got air not gas. Leona was rude and argumentative after a manager said i could drive back there and get a refund of the $8 29 i spent for nothing but air in my tank.

Great little convenience store at the Shell gas station! Has the cutest Hawaiian souvenirs and a convenient deli section. The deli section has a variety of poke packed in individual containers. The fresh poke for the day comes in around 8:30am! The cooked food was convenient to take with us for our day trip to the beach. They had spam musubi, fried chicken, and chili rice, and more! Definitely a spot to stop by if you're in the area in need of food or souvenirs!

Rude staff. If you're staying at the nearby resorts, I would suggest gassing up and getting your convenience items elsewhere.

Nice go-to store with snacks (including spam musubi, poke, icee type drinks), toiletries, common souvenirs, beach gear. Adjacent to gas station. Reasonable prices. Very accessible to our hotel.

Poke was delicious. Fresh and flavorful. Everything was in prepackaged cartons when we visited (later in the evening). Not sure if it's always like that. If I remember correctly it was around $14 a pound, which seemed reasonable. You can add a scoop of rice for $2 Located by a gas station so there's ample parking.

Sorry, but I have to do this locals. My family and I decided to do a little picnic for lunch. We came in here for the poki and it didn't disappoint. It hit the spot as the poki was light and the options were just right. My growing family of four, took our choices of poki and musubi's and took off south. From there we found a local park/ocean bench and watched the beautiful ocean, TURTLES, birds and what I think were ferrets roam around. Think about the Poki in these terms. When you go to New York, you should go into a convenient store and there you find some incredible fresh sandwiches, well in Hawaii, it's Poki!
