To be clear Napili Kai Beach Resort isn't a bad place to stay, it's just a bit misleading and photographs a little better than it really is. To start off with our king bed/twin bed family suite was actually a king bed (consisting of two twin mattresses pushed together) and two single sized fold out chairs. Considering we had three adults this was a bit of mess and the hotel offered no apology just a roll away if needed. This led to all three of us crammed into the bed with a the middle person literally falling into the crack between the mattress. The kitchen cabinetry also smelled very strongly of mold. Perhaps most frustrating was that pretty much every interaction I had with the front desk was met with indifference bordering on annoyance at my questions.Now on to the good. The location is prime, and the other review saying it's a long walk to the beach is absurd. We were located in the unit farthest from the beach a whole two minute walk through the resort away. The views are stellar and the semi-attsched restaurant, the sea house, has great food and drinks albeit a little over priced.Overall the issue here is this place is billed as a resort with all the features and charges about the same as many of the actual resorts that do. We've stayed at multiple westin properties and had none of the issues experienced here.Rooms: They're not as nice as the pictures show, and they will likely not have the beds you are promised.Nearby activities: Lots to do and tons of good food.Walkability: Highly walkable

Wife had a man..Use womens bathroom becsuse he was to lazy to get a key. Waitress was so busy she could not even stop to tell you specials or order 2nd drink. Food was just ok not worth

We had a blast! Very pleasant place, clean, and quiet. No bugs, functional AC, all basic beds covered. When we were there the building was being restavrated, but there was no noise/issues related to that that impacted us.

Wonderful stay. Resort staff are super friendly and helpful. Views are amazing in Napili Bay. Sea House restaurant right on property. Poolside shack for snacks and drinks and all beach gear is free for resort guests. Rooms are large - we stayed in a family studio in Keaka III (room 134 has great ocean views).

More stars for location. Can't beat a poolside, oceanside room. Small but functional kitchen. Great service staff. Parking is tight, but we always ended up with a spot.

Just went to Sea House Restaurant. Happy Hour from 3 to 4:45. Great food. Great view of beach and bay.

Summary: stay elsewhere for $1000+ a night. Many good hotel options in Maui. We’ve stayed in an Arbnb for far less two years ago and we much happier there. Luxury resorts in Maui are amazing. Check out my other review. We were extremely disappointed with Napili Kai. I would strongly advise against staying here with kids in particular due to hygiene and accessibility / long walk to the beach concerns.Pros: truly amazing view and location. We must have taken a hundred pictures and videos just from the balconyCons:—Sewage smell in the room bathroom that the hotel doesn’t take seriously at all. The toilet has an issue and everything get splashed each time you flush! Gross, but the hotel manager did not seem concerned, reluctantly give us $200 restaurant credit / offered a room change. If you get this room, it will smell like sewage in the bathroom.—TV doesn’t work. Hotel is aware and offered nothing to remedy—Internet so spotty that is barely functional—Long walk from the room to the beach and no ramp accessibility. Far from ideal if you have kids / strollers. Get ready to do some serious lifting if you are a parent staying here—Little bugs crawl in the kitchen—Hot water runs out in one of the showers in 2 min—Washer / driers don’t work well and cloths come out smelling dirty. And you have to pay for it too

what a beautiful place. FYI The fires were over exaggerated of course. Well worth the trip!
