We absolutely loved our stay in apartment 302. The owner Blain is an amazing host, he went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. His home is completely updated, it is beautiful and has amazing views. My daughter loved the turtle theme, she counted 95 turtles around the home. We feel blessed to have found Hale Mahina Beach Resort online and for the opportunity to meet Blain and many other amazing people. We are absolutely returning to Maui and booking our next stay in apartment 302.
Mahalo!

Location is great and pool was nice. Lack of air conditioning in the middle of July was a bit warm. Unit 403b has two sky lights with no covers, so it gets bright early.

We initially booked a condo in this resort via Airbnb but later the management changed and our reservation got transferred to Hale Mahina Beach Resort. We stayed for 4 nights in July including my husband, our toddler son and myself. Our unit was A202.Pros:- There's private beach access and a swimming pool inside the resort. The beach is fine sand and the waves can get a little rough. Many people were snorkeling and swimming so probably not unsafe. We didn't go snorkeling as we don't know how to swim and our toddler didn't like the waves. But that's on us. Overall a great private beach. - There's a shower and foot wash so that you can leave the sand at the beach. There are also beach towels, two pretty new beach chairs and an umbrella in the unit which we carried to the beaches we went to. - The building is in close proximity to Lahaina Harbor and Whaler's Village, making it quite a prime location.- There's a TV with an internet connection, a well appointed kitchen, washer dryer and dishwasher. The Internet needed some router restarts but eventually it did and then worked seamlessly.- The unit was cleaned well too. There's ample parking and an elevator up to the units. So quite accessible as well.Cons:- The bedroom and the bathroom have no access to the single portable AC and can get quite stuffy and hot. We were visiting in July and this was a major concern. There's no ventilation in either of these and that made it worse.- Even the living room doesn't get cooled down much by the single AC. We at times wished we stayed at a hotel with a kitchen rather than here due to the heat. - The unit is overall small, almost like a studio apartment with some makeshift doors. I think it's partially on Airbnb advertisement where the previous owner sold it like a bigger unit. It's good enough for a couple or a family of 3 with a little kid, like a toddler or smaller. - The bedroom is just beside the staircase so you can hear people walking up and down super clear and evidently they can hear you too. It mattered to us since we have a toddler and we needed to put on white noise to suppress this as much as we could. - The single closet in the bedroom is crowded with a lot of things so we used a couple of basket drawers to unpack our clothes. I wish there was more unpacking space.

Very noisy, loud elevator, people come and go at all hours, wind blew right threw window shutters.

I absolutely love this place. Depending on what room you get depends on what rules they have and amenities they offer as they are owned by different people. It's low key, nice and quite. The onsite manager makes sure people follow the rules they take pride in keeping this place looking great.

Stay away from unit B101 and the management company Chase N Rainbows. Our condo was filthy including moldy curtains and a moldy wall in the bedroom. On top of that, the fridge didn’t work. The management company was less than helpful. I never did get that call from the manager that was promised. The property itself is in a great location and we saw turtles every day. I’m sure the other units are fine, this one was in rough shape.

No AC. Unit is nice. View is gorgeous. If you want to sleep without sweat dont recommend. If your a cold natured you will love this place.

Loved the stay here at Hale Mahina. Our room opened up to a beautiful view of ocean. The view of sunset was just mesmerizing. When we arrived we saw a couple of sea turtles just hanging out by the beach ?

We were trying to choose between Maui Airbnbs, one had a nicer interior and the other was closer to the beach. Luckily, we decided on Hale Mahina, B304 was perfect for us and the beach was still literally a 2 minute walk and right behind the pool. The best thing was the fantastic view, we went to the beach at least once a day and saw sea turtles in the sand every time we went later in the afternoon. My wife and I spent every night lounging on the balcony enjoying the beach smell and sounds after we put the kids down.Another good thing to as proximity, very close to convenient places to eat, get groceries, and get gas. It was also a close drive to the more seculded north end of the island and all the tours and excursions south in Lahaina. Our unit was nicely maintained and nice, the building manager puts a lot of care into the building and cleaned the pool every single day.
