My wife and I have stayed at the Hale Kai 4 times now. The Hale Kai is right on the NW shore of Maui between Kaanapali and Kapalua, a perfect location. Snorkeling on Kapalua Bay is fantastic: Sea turtles and tropical fish galore. Great coffee is across the street and there's a nearby grocery store. Falling asleep and waking to the sound of the ocean is another draw for us. We'll be back.

We had a great stay in #215 at Hale Kai. Upon arriving to the condo we were greeted with an amazing view of the ocean from our balcony, there was music playing, fans blowing, and the place was very clean and well stocked. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Pros: location and access to the beach park next door as well as the Natural Foods store and other shops. Parking is easy. We liked that this place is small in comparison to the big resorts, low key and family friendly. The kitchen and bathroom are updated and everything worked well, the bed was comfortable and the balcony is great for watching whales and turtles. There is only one drawback with the noise from the street (we had one night of cruisers revving up their engines), but this comes with the convenience of being close to everything. If you are a light sleeper this may bother you, but I live in an urban setting so it's not a big deal for me. We will definitely stay here again.

Went on a large family vacation so we rented a lot of units and lemme tell u. Paradise !! I have since went back a few times with friends whom married on that beach. Went back solo bc that is my absolute favorite place in the world. I’ve also stayed in other condos and high end hotels. Hale Kai is the only place I will stay if there is no availability I will adjust my trip. The places all have they’re own tropical feel but all 3 I’ve been in have all been only perfect. Very welcoming very much my tropical paradise I need when it’s escape time.

Nice condo just 50 feet from the beach/ocean. Super quiet and mellow. All amenities provided.Great natural foods market, fresh fish market, restaurants within a 5 minute stroll.Lahaina IS The Place to visit and enjoy Maui.

I thought it was great. Pool and beach view from my unit 115. Really nice beach park for the kids next door. Coffee, groceries, and food trucks all within short walking distance. Really couldn't have asked for better. Disclaimer: this is not resort style. You are essentially in town mixing it up with locals. We really liked that part, but some may want the more isolated resort style ... not sure why lol.

We have stayed at Halle kai resort for several years and always find it to be very good for us. It is close to many restaurants and other tourist destinations and less costly than the hotels and other condos in the area.

A-ma-zing place! Our condo had everything we needed and more. The host was suuuper helpful and the place was super well located, it had a small beach at its side, shops in front and a nice park to the side. Couldnt recommendate it more.

If you're looking for fancy accommodations, this is not the place for you. But if you want an affordable place on the beach, on the best side of Maui with beautiful, unobstructed ocean views, a bench to watch sea turtles swim up on shore, listen to conch shells being trumpeted by various residents in the neighborhood to celebrate the setting sun, and a beach park next door for picnicking or just hanging out to watch the chickens, I don't think you can do better than Hale Kai. Leaving tomorrow for our second week-long stay, and we can't wait!
