This was our first time to Maui and first time at resort. I have to say I was very disappointed in the resort. We arrived on July 18th and was placed in room 411 which was very dirty and outdated. It was very warm in the room and went to turn on AC, it was not working. I went back to front desk and explained to lady ( who had no name tag on) she moved us to Room 911 and it had air conditioning but was very outdated in furnishing. It was nothing like the pictures I received from my travel agent prior to booking. I went back down and asked for a nicer room and she stated she didn't have nicer rooms. Overall the staff wasn't friendly when you asked for assistance at the front desk. Several times I went to ask to break a $20 dollar bill for singles, fives etc. and was told they never went to the bank for the day so they couldn't provide me change. I was told to walk across the street to the grocery store for change. It was mid day and I would think your staff would have cash bank at front desk. We asked for paper towels the next morning as the kitchen only had a small roll that was half used. You would of thought I was asking for gold, I was asked why I needed them ? I said we are a family of six and there was only a small roll. Why should I have to explain ? We went to the activities desk to book activities for our trip and she asked if she could write down our information and work on it and we could come back after we walked to the store to go get change for a $20. I came back about 20 minutes later which was 9AM and we couldn't find Sally. We went to our room and came back down about 20 minutes later and Sally acted as if she had no clue who we were or what items we wanted to book. We booked Jet Ski's and Ziplining with her. I had been speaking with Elise prior to our trip and she was working on Friday and weekend. We waited for Elise and she booked the remainder of our excursions and she was wonderful!! She was the only positive thing I could share about our trip. Thank you Elise. :) For the amount of money I paid for the stay it wasn't worth the cost.

We were there last week during the fire. We checked in Aug 8th at 3PM right before fire hit. The condo was filthy @ smelled but the mgr. Told us power would be on at 4 PM & he would change us to a different. What followed was our never got a clean room. Aston did not even have one single generator, even in their lobby, Tues till Fri. Night we slept in our car or in the lobby of other hotels that had generators. We checked back with Aston in the morning but we never got a clean room. They gave us 3 little bottles of water & 3 little glow sticks. We were starving but Aston did nothing to help us. They were a disorganized & uncaring mess. The staff in the lobby got sandwhiches delivered from somewhere & they ate in front of us while we starved. New fire right across the street Fri night 7 PM caused us to flee in terror & covered us in smoke & police finally opened road South, allowing us to flee to airport. Other hotels had generators & lit up lobbies with coffee & they passed out some bits of food. The Aston did nothing to help us.

We’ve stayed here before and liked it so we came back. This time the lock on our door repeatedly malfunctioned. We had to replace our key almost every time we tried to get in our room. When we talked to the front desk, they blamed us instead of ever inspecting the door. They said we put the key card next to other cards and that somehow erased it. That we put it next to our phone and it somehow got erased. That we had to pull the door knob while jam the key in and out as fast as we could. That we did it too fast? Too slow? Always an excuse. We lost hours of our trip going back and forth and attempting to get I. Our room. One woman at the front was particularly argumentative and even called to yell at me about how it was our fault until I hung up on her. She then called over and over until I answered and said she’d waive a fee but never did. I understand things happen but is it that hard to walk over and check the lock yourself??

We've been staying at Aston Mahana for 25 years. We always stay in a one bedroom condo with a full living room/kitchen. The rooms all have Amazing full views of the Ocean! We could see Turtles and fish from our room. The rainbows are abundance from our balcony. We highly recommend staying at the Aston Mahana. We are looking forward to returning in the near future!

Great location but apparently the place is under constant construction, which can put a huge damper on your stay. We rented a two bedroom unit for a fairly high price ($900+ per night) only to be told shortly after arrival that we wouldn't have access to the unit on one full day of our stay there due to construction-related "safety" issues. Calls to ask about any consideration for this loss of access went unreturned for days. When I eventually got someone on the phone they told me this is "normal" and that the resort does nothing for guests who are inconvenienced this way. Since you pay in advance when renting through Maui Realty/Epic Maui Vacations (which I do NOT recommend), you are basically stuck paying for a unit you can't use.

The view from our condo unit was priceless. The ocean view is all around the unit. Property was clean well maintained and less crowds. Love that all basic necessities needed like laundry soap for the washing machine is included, complete kitchen with all appliances untenable etc and refills of keirig coffee pods tea etc are also included. There is also a nice bbq grill with covered seating area surrounded by greenery in the property that guest can use. Good trucks and restaurants , spa are just across the street from hotel and ABC stores and other malls are also all very close within 5-10 minutes. We hope to come back. Already recommended this property to all our friends and families back home.

So far great experience but not a fan of the local bugs in our unit but we're in paradise.

Most incredible ocean view from our room. The rooms are a bit dated, but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Please BEWARE of extremely strong currents when swimming near the hotel. I got caught in a rip current while snorkeling and nearly drown.

Perfect location in Kaanapali, literally right on the beach, with everything you need! One thing I hate about vacations is only having a room, and I honestly hate the resort feel. These feel way more like condos, with full kitchens, washers and dryers and BBQs, but with the amenities you need from a hotel: a friendly staff, convenient front desk and concierge for questions, pool, housekeeping when needed, and even shuffle board!I’ve stayed here a few times with family over the years, but this is the first time I’ve stayed with my husband, and probably the first time in about 2@ years. The property is beautiful and well maintained.Everything is a little different style wise in every room, but we had a super up to date studio on the ground floor, with a great patio and easy walk out to the beach and pool. The note beach does have a reef, but it’s great for snorkeling, and walk literally a minute to the left and you have a swimmable area with sand to lounge, and easy access to the boardwalk and Duke’s!Plus this hotel is very convenient and walkable to a great food truck park, ABC store, Papi’s cinnamon buns, a grocery store, other restaurants and cafes. We’ll only stay here from now on when coming to Maui!Rooms: Rooms have everything you needed, including a full kitchen and washer and dryer.Safety: Felt super safe, and we were in the ground floor. Security is present on the grounds at all times. We were fine leaving our patio unlocked and walking out to the beach, no issues.Walkability: Lots around to walk to! Also super accessible to boardwalk.

This suite was absolutely beautiful! The furnishings were very nice. Wall hangings were beautiful tropical scenes. The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked. Family loved it. I enjoyed the early morning with a cup of coffee looking out at the ocean. This was room 1001. To the owners of this suite, Thankyou, we had a great time and will come back again.

The rooms are nice and loaded with a lot of goodies but the only thing good about this place.Staff was not helpful. We were sent to a park by the travel guide and she never mentioned to us we needed reservations. We wasted half a day.The towels always seemed to be out.No room service Pool area is small and packed with kids.We stayed 7 days 8 nights and we were told on the 4th day we would have our room cleaned. Never happened. The finally showed up with sheets and we changed our own bedding.Staff made us take our own bags up the room.None of these things should happen when your paying too dollar. 7 days at $5000.Would not go again. Definitely check out the Hyatt or the Clermont. Anything to the left of Aston Mahana. Plus it's too far From the action. 45 min walk to Whalers. If you don't have a car you will need to Uber everywhere.

My unit was beautiful with an unbelievable view; however, upon checkout, I discovered the cost of the room had been misrepresented by Booking.com and I was charged $400 over what I anticipated. Upon calling both Booking.com and the Aston, I was told my room had been upgraded, something I was totally unaware of, but charged. No one seemed to know how this had happened.
