This post office is what I would call, off the grid! It's secluded and always dark! My parents have a PO Box here and I've encouraged them many times to change the location. It's like they're stilling using a 40 watt bulb to light the place. I went there yesterday and someone was standing on the other side of the boxes and I didn't even see him thru the window. I always scan the parking lot before I go, to see if the car to person ratio matches. No upgrades and definitely no frills. I feel sorry for people who work here in this 40 watt atmosphere. So unsavory looking.

I love reviewing post offices, and this is honestly my absolute favorite post office anywhere, which makes me wonder why I haven't reviewed this location before now. What you need to know is that the hours are limited. This USPS is in a trailer on what was the Dole agricultural employee store/ administrative area on Kania road. The store has now become a rum distillery and the office spaces now house a farmer's market every Friday afternoon. The post office remains, but has never needed to expand availability, as it still serves a very small community. That said, if you can make the time work for you you will discover that there is rarely a line. Even better (in my opinion!) on the rare occasion that you are in a line, that line includes a wonderful location, fresh air, and a good chance of being able to talk story with a few interesting people. This is no humdrum location. It is as country as one can get along a busy road and the customers who find their way here are living on a slower timeline than those who seek out a city location. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy the pace.

17 December 2020 I had some postcards in my car for a few days that needed postage. They are going International so I knew it would take more than the regular domestic rate stamps. However, I did not know how much more so I needed to visit a postal service provider to get the stamps weighed. I chose to patronize USPS over the others. On my way home I search for the nearest USPS location because I knew the one nearest my house would be closed since they have very limited hours. The Kunia branch was the nearest location and most convenient, it was right off the main road so I did not have to go far out of my way. It seemed simple enough so I did not even put it in my GPS. Once I turn off the main road, I saw a few businesses but did not immediately see the post office. Luckily, I noticed a sign pointing towards its direction. The sign had the USPS logo and a directional arrow. The arrows direction was hard to make out because it was very faded but, it did help. I pulled up and it was a small trailer. The trailer is well marked and is ample parking available. I presume they don't usually have an influx of customers because the window was closed with directions to ring the bell for service. Within a 30 seconds of me ringing the bell, there was a postal service employee at the window. That was JO (her name was on her name tag). I told her what I needed, handed her my cards, and she informed me of the total cost. While she was placing the postage on the card, I informed her that I would get some change from my car. When I returned to the window she was very esthetic for the coins because as she stated, she needed coins. I don't have any issues with this location. The postal clerk was pleasant and the whole process took me less than 5 minutes. I will definitely go back for fast service away from the bigger, busier post offices.

This is my favorite post office. I'll drive out of my way (from Kapolei) to send something here. The guy working is always friendly and knows what you need. A+
