This past August my son and I traveled to Maui for an axis deer hunt. After loads of research, we landed on Hawaii Safaris as our outfitter and we are sure glad we did. Tobi Fisher went above and beyond with her level of communication prior to the hunt and had us well prepared for the multi-day adventure. She teamed us up with our guide Noah Foti of Rowdy Outdoors and what a pleasure it was to spend our time afield with him. Noah is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the deer and terrain. Plus, he is a terrific guy to hunt with. Thank you to Noah and the team at Hawaii Safaris for a special hunt that ended with stellar success in so many ways. We will indeed be back for another one very soon!!

I am just returning from a doe management hunt on Maui. I have hunted my entire life, but this was my first guided hunt. The experience could not have been better. The Fisher family provided me with a lot of information prior to the hunt and answered all my questions, which put me at ease. My guide, Keanu, was fabulous. We hunted a full day, and I harvested two nice Axis deer. I believe that this is the type of hunt that can be tailored to the hunter. There are some easier shot opportunities, and the location we hunted is very hunter friendly. However, if you want to spot and stalk, or bust through the brush in the wind while hunting bedding areas in the afternoon, you can experience it. I saw a lot of Axis and some pigs during the hunt. The landscape and views are out of this world. I picked up the meat yesterday, and it looks amazing. One thing to consider, you have to schedule your hunt so that your meat will have time to freeze solid before you try to fly back. I checked some of the meat in a 52-quart marine cooler with wheels, and I carried the rest on with a backpack cooler (over 24 hours without any problems). I can’t thank Keanu and the Fisher family enough for helping me have such an memorable experience. Decades from now I will still be thinking about this hunt.

Save your money and go with a different company. We were hunting in places we were not supposed to be in- Yeah you read that right! This shouldn't happen on a paid hunt! And it was on purpose!Was told we could take the meat home on the plane, but when we went to pick it up, they said it wasn't frozen solid enough and we were told they would ship it. That was a month ago, and we paid an additional $150 for it to be shipped (plus we had already bought the $40 plane baggage fee), and they still haven't sent it.We were told we would have two guides for the two hunters, and were only given one. After a morning hunt, where they didn't see anything, they got us another guide who complained the whole time about being out there.One hunter never got a shot opportunity-yet we were never refunded, and after the hunt was over, and we called to talk about this, and about being in places we shouldn't have been, they won't return our phone calls.This company is not what it advertises. Don't make the same expensive mistakes we did. Should have seen that two of the good reviews are from the owners-that's misleading and pathetic.

My wife and I booked a hunt for our honeymoon. Paid to rent two guns. Met with our guide the first morning, he only brought 1 gun. The binos he brought were trash, so he ended up using my wife’s binos. My wife spotted a nice axis buck early the first day, but our guide dismissed her and wouldn’t even try to see what she was looking at. A few minutes later, I spotted a buck our guide called a monster at 155 yards. Our guide took the rifle from my wife and started running toward the buck. Then after it got away he tried to convince her to shoot a buck less than half that size. That night we spotted another nice buck at 77 yards. There was a burm the perfect height for a dead rest, and our guide grabbed the gun to readjust it 3 times until the buck ran off. I could go on and on. I’ve been on guided hunts all over the US and Africa. Nothing was even close to this terrible. Because they only brought 1 rifle, I never even got to hunt. It was like our guide was purposely sabotaging the hunt. Thats the only way I can wrap my mind around how bad it was.I also find it ironic that at least 2 of the 5 star reviews are from the owners (the very ones I was communicating with). Pretty sad you have to give yourself good reviews.

One of the best outfits I’ve worked with. Did a big horn sheep hunt on the big island. My guide Matt was amazing. Hawaii Safaris does exactly what they advertise. I plan to use them in the future for my hunts on the islands. Great communication !!!! I have hunted a lot but this was a special one. Had my youngest daughter with me and we were able to get a beautiful sheep. A trip we will remember for a life time. I can’t truly say enough positive things about my experience. Thank you all for an amazing time. Matt hope your wife and newborn are doing well. If anyone is thinking of hunting Hawaii this is who I would recommend.

I had a great experience! Earl on Moloka'i was a great guide. Company is incredibly quick to respond even with a 6 hour time difference. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and answered all our questions. Awesomepeople!

Wow, this was a hunt of a lifetime. Definitely a bucket list hunt. I had a fun experience and very quick. Just the way I like it. I had a wonderful time with Patrick and he is a great local guide. He has great knowledge on the habits of the axis deer and knows where to look. We saw plenty of animals and I was waiting for a good sized animal. Patrick is very responsive if you have questions and has good recommendations on where to stay. He is also a local so he gave us some good tips on where to check out local things to do. We also saw turtles and other wildlife. I would highly recommend these guys and check them out.

Had a recent deer hunt with guide Jeremy through Hawaii Safariis. So much fun! Jeremy was so knowledgeable and accommodating. If you haven’t heard already, Axis deer is delicious beyond belief til you try it. Highly recommend!

Pat and his son Chaz are top notch!!! Amazing time woth both of them and they know how to keep you in the game. I came in December when only 20% of the bucks still have horns and they put me on bucks every day, also went above and beyond. We are back again now in May and super excited to see these guys again. It is a life experience you can't miss!

After several heartbreaking slips and seeing tons of great Axis deer - Pat and his guys stuck it out, helped me plan around the wife, and made sure I left Maui with a great trophy and an even better story to tell hunting the mountains and ranges of Maui. NO other outfitter would have given as much time, care, or effort to make sure I finally got the opportunity I needed.

Pat and his Son Chaz were a pleasure to deal with while on our vacation in Maui. They guided My girlfriend and I on our first Hunt and it was an amazing experience to say the least. Chaz (his son) was very helpful during our guide to help point out thinks that we needed to do that we wouldn’t have known without prior experience. Never once did we feel out of place or awkward (first time hunting) and they made us feel like family. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with making sure we got all our our deer meat and antlers home. We look forward to hunting again with H.S. during our next vacation to the island.

We have had two hunts with Hawaii Safaris. One with Jeremy and one with Chaz. Both were tons of fun! They are experienced outfitters that can tailor the hunt to your needs. My dad has heart problems and they were able to keep a light pace while still leading us to some amazing shots. They are respectful to the game and the land, teach you a lot about hunting, and have amazingly friendly personalities. They love what they do and you can tell they get joy from helping others hunt. They were a bargain for priceless memories and delicious meat for the ohana.
