Very clean store with unique items. I’ve never seen someone enjoy life and his job more than the guy working, which was refreshing. You could tell he’s really passionate about what he does and loves interacting with customers to teach and explain the product to them!

The store has a great atmosphere and a no-pressure attitude. They will also securely and professionally wrap and load your picks into your vehicle right after purchase, which really makes the whole process a breeze.

My wife and I have had great experiences here. Martin & Macarthur is hands-down the best place to go for Koa style arts & crafts and furniture.

My husband and I came specifically to look at the carved out islands made of KOA. My husband noticed right away that the islands looked different. There was only one sales lady, I believe she said her name was Betty Jo. Anyway, very friendly. She explained that the one displayed in the store was not carved by hand but machine cut. She quoted the price of $1995.00. Then she mentioned that she could check with one of the sister store to see if they had the hand carved island. They did not, and only carried the same thing in her store, but, the gentleman on the phone said it cost $625.00. Well, of course we would purchase it at that price and we would pay for shipping it back home. But then the sales lady had no idea about the SKU # to ring it up. So she calls another store and spoke to another man. And he was not helpful to her and told her to google it. Well she eventually found out the SKU # but, came up with yet again a different price. $695,00. My husband became suspicious, because of the three different prices and she wasn't willing to offer any discount for the mistake. We decided to walk out without the KOA wood island. We were disappointed because the lady did not know her merchandise pricing. And we just were not pleased at all

First, my wife and I love the beautiful wood watches we bought a couple of years ago. But I have to give this place a poor rating for after the sale support. Our watches needed new batteries and Martin & MacArthur wanted $25 each to replace the batteries. This is way out of line. I ended up buying the tool to remove the back for $8 on Amazon and bought a ten pack of batteries for $5. Come on, don't try to screw your customers. We were ready to buy other merchandise but this just soured our experience.

Beautiful gallery- like store with the highest quality artistic merchandise. Ask to see their Kia furniture catalog.

Customer service was excellent. Kris got us a great deal on an unique and beautiful piece of art. The prices may seem a bit high, yet you are getting a truly unique and high quality piece of art. I'd buy from them again. Thank you.

Great experience shopping and buying here! The people were helpful and genuine. Their shop was full of truly unique items that one is not likely to find/experience on the mainland. I bought a "thank you" gift for Mom for watching our kids while in Kauai, and I bought a necklace/earring set for my wife to remember her experience snorkeling with the sea turtles! A pleasure to shop, and they truly made it easy.

I Love the Martin and MacArthur gift shop at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on Kauai. They have the most beautiful Koa wood items. I love Koa wood because each piece, whether it be furniture, jewelry, watches, lovely boxes, is uniquely different. This is because of the beautiful grain and depth of the Koa wood. I am always and forever drawn to this beautiful wood. Martin and MacArthur stores carry other artist pieces as well. This summer I bought a large giclee of a Honu sea turtle by Patrick Ching. He is a famous Hawaiian wildlife artist and conservationist who I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time this year. I often see these graceful sea turtles when I am snorkeling on Kauai and it is always so exciting to see them in their natural habitat. This year I was able to bring one home with me :) thanks to Darci. Darci is the new Manager of The Martin and MacArthur store at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and I find her extremely professional. She sets the tone of the store. This professionalism shows in her staff. She and they have a wealth of knowledge about each piece they sell and answer any questions I have with ease. * I never feel pressured or rushed when I'm shopping here. This is very important to me.. When I feel pressured or rushed by an employee in a store I turn around and walk right out. At this store I feel relaxed and at home the moment I walk through the door. Every summer when I travel to Kauai I am sure to stop in and buy at least one piece. Usually several. I love Lan who I have known for several years now. She is my "go to" person in the store and she remembers every item I've ever bought from her off the top of her head. This time I have a truly stunning Koa Wood jewelry box because of her, and a beautiful Koa Wood neckless of a palm tree that has a little "diamond coconut" on it. So cute! And I feel so lucky to have met Darci this year. I happened to come in on a day that Lan was not working. I needed two more Koa Wood jewelry boxes for gifts. I am very picky about the color and grain of the Koa wood that I like. And although the others at her store were beautiful, I wanted a lighter color and grain of the wood. Darci went out of her way to find them for me. She checked all of the Martin and MacArthur stores on the islands and had them email her pictures of ones she thought I might like so that I could see them. I was so happy when she found me two exquisite ones that I love. Oh, and between emails as I was looking around the store, I saw Patrick Ching's beautiful Honu hanging on the wall. Darci filled me in on his Hawaiian wildlife conservation work, his artwork and books he writes and illustrates for children, educating them about Hawaiian wildlife and the importance of respecting their habitat so that they do not go extinct. So if you ever find yourself on Kauai, be sure to stop by the Martin and MacArthur store at The Grand Hyatt Hotel. You'll find beautiful things and lovely, informed sales people! Susan L.
