Our tour was the highlight of our visit to the Garden Island. We can’t stop telling everyone about all we experienced. We learned so much, and we continue to enjoy the recipes today. Sampling the superfood of the gods was my favorite part, but every step of the way was a delightful adventure. Our guide was absolutely amazing! So much information about every aspect of chocolate and the island. I am so thankful that our concierge at the Koala Landing Resort recommended this wonderful activity to us.

We really enjoyed our time learning about how cacao is grown, processed and turned into various forms of chocolate. We got to see plants, pods that had just been harvested, see them cut open and understand what happens next. Several fruits to try, and LOTS of chocolate to try, with all sorts of flavors, and all really really tasty! We learned so much - it was right up our alley! Worth the money. :)

What a fun and educational tour! We had a great time and learned so much about chocolate production. A highlight was being able to taste the fruit of the cacao plant fresh off a tree. All of the chocolates were amazing and delicious. I can't believe I would ever say this, but it was almost too much chocolate all at once (not really, but you do get to taste a huge amount of things!!)Our guide was wonderful, had a great personality and was very knowledgable and helpful at all stages of the process. Would highly recommend!!

This tour was incredible. Awesome tour through the farms and the chocolate making process, and the chocolate tasting was so so good. However, what really made it great was our tour guide Jenna. She is incredibly engaging, knowledgeable, funny, and her passion for plants, farming, chocolate, everything she was talking about was so evident. She is truly in her element and it added so much to the tour. Highly recommend this tour!

A very wholesome experience. Bethany led this tour in very down to earth way. I appreciated her knowledge and passion and great sense of humor. We sampled at least 15 different high quality chocolate blends. Thank you Bethany for preserving the soul of the medicine!

Fabulous tour of an organic Cacau farm and bean to bar tasting experience! Angela, the owner & chocolatier was our guide for the day. She was amazing, smart, funny, encouraged us to ask questions and answered them in easy to understand manner. She started us out with an array of fruits, sweet baked and fried savory breadfruit, fresh macadamia nuts to crack & eat. She took us to her Cacau grove and explained the chocolate process from planting the seeds, to what needed to be planted nearby all the way through the process of making chocolate and gave us at least 20 different chocolate samples (of her making). I’ve been to several chocolate tours around the world, Garden Island Chocolate farm tour is by far the BEST I’ve ever visited! If you like chocolate and learning…this is the tour for you!!

I agree with the other reviewers in that this was an interesting educational experience. However, there were a couple of things that were off-putting. If you are serving a large group of about 40 people at $99 a pop, why are your porta potties such disgusting, ill-kept facilities (and here is where you prepare/serve food)? They should be clean.Secondly, the website states, "see how chocolate is made from the cacao fruit," but we did not see this at all. We saw the cacao fruit growing on the tree, we saw the inside of the fruit, and we saw the finished chocolate. The actual process of making the chocolate was not shown, only described in words. This disappointed me greatly. The tasting of different types of chocolate consisted of passing a bowl of chocolate rectangles from one person to another, all 35-40 of us, everybody taking with their hands from the communal bowl. It would have been better to pass a tray, with each piece of chocolate individually placed on a small plate or leaf or cupcake paper, to pay attention to basic food safety rules.

A lovely rainy morning spent tasting SO many amazing chocolates. It had to be 30 or more BIG bites. The buzz lasted all day. Bethani was fun and we loved Mr Lucky. One star off for a slightly offensive Indian accent used when introducing a curry leaf plant. Otherwise, definitely recommend this fun farm tour.

What a great experience! Touring the farm, learning about the various plants and the horticulture in how it’s harvested and maintained was fascinating. Bethany’s knowledge and personal style was both educational and entertaining. Many thanks to “the Wonka’s” for such a wonderful experience - if you’re a devotee of chocolate, it’s a must-see!
