If I had thought about it I would've left without purchasing anything! The clerks was absolutely RUDE and snotty! Definitely not a customer service person. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The fresh deli is completely shut down. Went to get fresh mochi, all they had were boxes of some, which eneded up being a year old, chalky and just gross.

An employee covered t-shirts with a towel, as I was looking at them. The employee advised that the t-shirts weren't available for sale. It was 5:50pm... the store was scheduled to close at 8pm. The employee advised that the staff couldn't continue to refold t-shirts so they stopped selling them earlier than thestore closing time. Other folded t-shirts remained uncovered.

It is kind of a dreary place with zero energy. GRUMPY clerks every time. Very overpriced. I will not go there again.

Quick and easy place to grab sundries and necessities... Great place for souvenirs... In a great location at The Shops at Wailea.... Easiest place to find all you need in Wailea...

Cute store with lots of souvenirs. However, the Aloha Woodcrafters magnets that say “hand painted” and “from Hawaii” are actually made in Mexico. 10 magnets were purchased and each one had a made in Mexico sticker under the bar code. Obviously the bar code sticker was placed there intentionally. very deceptive.

We went in for poke. We came in 30 minutes before the store closed and they had wrapped up everything. I'd recommend visiting earlier if you'd like ready to eat bites. Staff was polite. Options were a little limited.

OK, I'm writing this review for one reason only; the guava bread. On our last morning in Maui, we came here to grab a few essential items before heading to the airport. Along with some spam musubi, my boyfriend grabbed a small loaf of guava cake by the register because "it looked good". After we got back home, we found the loaf sitting in a bag and decided to eat it while it was fresh. To our surprise, it was delicious! It was full of favor and super moist! The only regret we had was not to get a truck load to bring home! The clerk was really friendly and the store was really well stocked & clean, I think I would like to return and get more goodies here instead of going to ABC.

Whalers General Stores are one-stop shops, similar to convenience stores and Hawaii's ABC Stores, but a step up. I believe there are four Whalers General Stores on Maui, two in Lahaina and two in Kihei. We visited this location in Kihei while shopping at The Shops at Wailea. This Whalers General Store has a pretty large space on the first floor, near the center of the mall. It's got a deli, poke bar, and ice cream bar. They sell clothing, gifts, souvenirs, and useful accessories (e.g. Croakies). They also sell packaged snacks, refrigerated beverages, and day-to-day goods like sunscreen and toiletries. This store was clean and well-stocked with useful items and necessities. My wife, sister, and mom purchased local Maui coffee, HI Spice hot sauces, and Jeff's Jams & Jellies-brand butters, spreads, and dressings from this store. They were particularly huge fans of Jeff's Jams & Jellies and purchased multiple jars from other stores too, including an ABC Store and the Maui Pineapple Store in Lahaina. I recommend Jeff's Jams & Jellies Lilikoi Butter (passionfruit), UpCountry Guava Butter, and Pineapple Butter. The Pineapple Coconut Jam and Papaya Vinaigrette are good too. Check out the full selection at We stocked up and have been enjoying them at home on the mainland. Service was good. There's plenty of easy-to-find parking for this Whalers General Store because of the shopping mall's spacious lots.

Of the convenience stores at the Shops At Wailea, this is my favorite. They have an extensive selection of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Not just tee shirts & totes but Maui and Kona coffee, multi-boxed macadamia's, wood art, perfumes etc. They have fast food breakfast items which are quite good and Much cheaper than the nearby hotel coffee shops. They also have sandwiches that are fresh and large. Not to mention ice cream and a large selection of sundry items

Awesome place! I love the variety of souvenirs they have here. The staff was very helpful. Whatever you need while on the island, they probably have it there or will tell you who has it. I highly recommend going there.

Typical convenience store type fare with some gift shop items and limited grocery. I don't think we could even find POG juice here! We did buy some novelty pens because of my daughter and they had Tylenol if you're in a pinch. Gift shop souvenirs like magnets and other Knick knacks can be found. Snacks seemed to dominate several aisles and they also had a couple options for standard ham and cheese or Turkey sandwiches.
