They have a good selection of stuff. It really stinks in that area. Not their fault I’m sure, but it doesn’t help the already poor experience. We asked about the bathroom. Cappy was rude and unhelpful about the directions to the bathroom. We bought a bracelet which broke immediately. Cappy told us not to pull so hard on it when we loosen it. He did not, he loosened it like a normal adult would. We went back to see if we could exchange and she was really rude about that too. We ended up just doing a refund.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I was trying so be helpful by using a bag I had from shopping and was putting the items I just purchased in it. The screen said remove card approved before I started. The clerk Florenda was less than civil. She rudely told me to wait until my transaction was finished before bagging. I pointed out she had a poor attitude and she yelled at me to get out of “my Store “! I refrained from what I wanted to reply.Hope she has a better day.

Great local general store in Kihei. They have all you may need or even souvenirs for your return home. Right next to other souvenir shops and the cinnamon bun shop. We got some waters here for our trip up the Haleakala Summit. There is plenty of parking in front of the store.

We just attempted to stop for some quick essentials at the Whalers General Store - Kihei. The store was completely empty aside from one cashier and us. The cashier made no attempt to greet us (ok, no worries - not everyone excels as customer service) although she was standing at the front of the store folding t-shirts when we came in. She did however make a noticeable disdainful glance in our direction as we looked at a few things in the aisle. When we were ready to check out at the register, the cashier made no acknowledgement at all that she was willing to help and continued folding shirts. We left without buying anything as it became clear that cashier lady would not be able to take time away from shirt folding. All in all a strange experience!

The shop assistant named “cappy” is the rudest person we met in Hawaii. This store is also very overpriced. 1 gallon of milk for 14$, eggs for almost 10$. Avoid it if you can.

Racially profiled my friend, was watching him the entire time as he was in the store, then came at me for “not paying” for my goods when it had been bubbled wrapped and her coworker had verified that I paid. Awful experience and did not expect it from a souvenir shopping experience

Awful experience. Short thicker boned lady racially profiled my friend, accusing him of not paying for a hat. Proceeded to come at me for "not paying" when her coworker had already checked me out and the items were bubble wrapped. Cashiers were nice enough though

Worst service ever!!!! As I was checking out, I accidentally left a straw wrapper on the counter. The sales associate who was ringing me up yelled at me and said I guess I will throw this away. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. I will never shop in there again!!!! Worst service in all of Hawaii!!!! Don’t go in there!!!!!
