The owner of Maui Tech Auto Repair is a mensch, which in English means an upstanding, generous, trustworthy, kind, fair, thoughtful, sincere person. He seems to "live aloha,"'and runs an honest shop that, as far as I know, does good work.

My valve gasket was leaking on my BMW so I brought it to Maui Tech. After service, when I picked it up, I noticed that there was still the smell of burning oil. After a few days, (to make sure the smell wasn't from the residual oil on the engine), I brought it back and they determined that the valve cover had a crack in it. I was upset but Paolo in the office handled the situation very fairly. He offered to take care of the cost of replacing the valve cover since it was handled during the gasket replacement. I feel that this situation was handled fairly and I feel like they were not trying to profit from a unfortunate circumstance. I got my car back and it's working beautifully. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I highly recommend Maui Tech. They are HONEST. I brought in a Maui beater/cruiser in for an assessment. Not only was final price lower than the quoted estimate, Desiree also told me, in the kindest possible way!, that the car was not worth fixing. (The shop could have easily made recommendations to fix certain things.) All in all, a very positive personal and professional experience. I will be returning.

I have used this place several times in the past for repairs, oil changes and today to change the flat tire. l always drove off happy with work and how l was treated. Today was no exception.With a flat tire and spare stuck and unable to release, we got turned down across the street at Good Year Auto (they absolutely suck) and as l always had great experience with Maui Tech, l asked tow truck driver to tow us here.Even though the service writer Desiree wasn't around, Rafael the mechanic dropped what he was doing to not only put the spare on for us, he also fixed the puncture.These guys are nice, competent and helpful. Can't go wrong here.

Starter on our rx350 was failing so I bought one here in Kihei and these great guys got it installed for me on the same Monday I took it to them! Couldn’t be happier. Fernando - you da MAN! No more fear of not making it home. He also said the brakes are going to need replacement soon. Guess where this car is going to? Mahalo guys. You’re the best.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My car shipped from the mainland about a year ago. Dead battery about 5 mos ago. Next, engine overheat warning twice. Took it to a dealer...TWICE. $2,700 dollars later still having problems, the same problems AND new problems. I was ready to sell my baby 2007 with 60k miles. ****Brought it here and they fixed all of the problems, including new problems created by prior mechanics*** (They're repairs including attaching battery cables that were barely touching the battery and causing electrical failure of the car while driving). Also did maintenance and other work that was not urgent but was overlooked by me. ***I am so happy to feel safe driving and I feel that I can keep my low mileage classic for years to come. Look no further. I will be back. Feeling safe and satisfied.

Relying on box trucks for my company, Desiree has been super helpful in meeting my box truck needs and being thorough, helpful and proactive. I feel there is understanding here on how important commercial vehicles are to companies. In my opinion the knowledge, communication, time and organization skill set here in my expirience, is on point, A+, which is hard to find on Maui as many know.

I really appreciated the service last Feb 2020, and thought 145.00 was high for just refilling freon for air conditioning in my 2004 Prius, but my air was nice and cold again.HOWEVER, had to return again for same problem July 8, 2020 and they charged me $200.00!!! for a process that took my friend only 15 minutes on his Prius, and then they charged $25.00 for a $5.00 filter at Napa that's easy to install behind glove compartment, and then they claimed to put leak dye in without spotting the leak while I was there. As my friend said, "They probably charged you and didn't put dye in because otherwise they'd see the leak without waiting for it to turn warm again for however long that takes." I feel that they WAY overcharged me. I will NOT return to them again.Consumer Beware! of getting ripped off here...!

Very rude & nasty attitude just had a couple of questions the lady hang up on me.When I called back and asked to speak to the manager she informed me she was . So then asked for the owner's name was hung up on again..If this is how act towards a call .I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS. NEVER

1) Asked for Oil change. Normally "they" check fluids, filters etc and give the customer a complete form with suggestions. Here I was told that would be extra and I just got the Oil change with no feedback. $77
